OTR Fashion Lineup: Michael Costello
With just a few shows left for the On The Run Tour, Beyoncé pulled out yet another look from Project Runway alum, Michael Costello.
For the performance of “Drunk in Love,” Beyoncé swapped out the black Victorian lace bodysuit, also by Costello, in favor of a fire engine red body suit with bell sleeves also by Costello. According to Michael Costello, a red rose that would later be placed at the neck of the bodysuit inspired the entire look.
“I wanted to make it feel like the sexiest thing I’ve ever done, so I decided to have it cut higher and make the back open to show more skin. I chose a very Latin-inspired red lace with stretch to the fabric so it would fit her like a glove. I choose to do the leaves and appliqués in black beads and the roses were hand made and took about 12 hours to make,” said Costello.
In it’s finished state, the body suit had more than 72 hours of work put into it.
