BeyGOOD Launches Good News Newsletter

Klaudia//May 12, 2021
We're so glad to share with you this inaugural quarterly newsletter. There's so much taking place in the world right now, it is important that good news becomes part of the narrative. We are living through a pandemic that has taken so many of our loved ones, drawing us to a communal grief. We came together and spoke out against injustices, facing the truth to change systemic racism. We are innovative and powerful, celebrating music, art and creativity. Through it all we are working on changing the world and making it better – and THAT's GOOD NEWS!

In 2013 the Philanthropic arm of Parkwood Entertainment was launched to inspire people everywhere to be kind, to be generous and to be GOOD. It seemed simple then – which was our intent to make BEING GOOD easy, as such something everyone could do. So, we set out on the Mrs. Carter World Tour with an idea, a few #BeyGOOD branded t-shirts and the single hope to make real lasting impact. To our surprise and delight, the simple message quickly became a global movement. And eight years later, we've met some of the bravest souls, kind hearts and absolutely brilliant minds, with some of the most fascinating stories, far too inspiring NOT to share.

We've curated this space for you to journey with us to the many places visited and for you to meet some of the faces of change, hope, inspiration and social impact. From St. Damien's Pediatric Hospital in Haiti to the Global Citizen stage in Hamburg, Germany and Johannesburg, South Africa, Hurricane Harvey survivors in Houston, Texas to young warriors battling physical illnesses and defying the odds. BeyGOOD was present at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, then on to Brazil, Australia, London and showing support for 900 plus small businesses here in the US, along with mental health support, both as a response to the deficiencies caused by the pandemic.

Klaudia//February 26, 2021
Renowned jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz has teamed up with GIA to create a scholarship dedicated to her longtime friend and client – the multi-talented performer, record producer and philanthropist, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The Beyoncé Knowles-Carter x Lorraine Schwartz GIA Scholarship will award two members of the Black community the opportunity to earn the most esteemed credentials in the industry – the GIA Graduate Gemologist® diploma. The recipients of the scholarship will be selected by Beyoncé herself and will be awarded full tuition and paid expenses for the program, which will be studied primarily online through distance education. Applications for the scholarship will be accepted March 1st through March 16th.

"This scholarship is an homage to Beyoncé for the inspiration she's given me throughout my career. It’s about the love formed from relationships and knowing that at the end of the day, we are all the same. Now I have the opportunity to bring that inspiration full circle and show the community the endless possibilities that are in this industry, especially for Black professionals." - Lorraine Schwartz

"We both believe that learning is constant. This is a chance to learn from the best, create generational wealth and turn a love of gems into a career." - Beyoncé

With 1 in 6 Americans facing food insecurity, we have to ban together to help. We have seen food lines in small towns and large cities all over the country.

Following Thanksgiving, many food banks are now reporting low food supplies. As a team we are coming together to give non-perishable food donations. Additionally, we are giving financially to food banks and pantries in various local communities.

Please join us by giving what you can.

We have started a list of local food banks and pantries that would help you in your search for where there is urgent need. Together we can keep them stocked and families fed, as we continue to make a difference in our communities

Beyoncé and Peloton Team Up for Unprecedented Partnership

Klaudia//November 10, 2020
Peloton, the world's leading interactive fitness platform, and GRAMMY® Award-winning global entertainer and entrepreneur, Beyoncé, today announced a broad, multi-year partnership rooted in the celebration of music -- a central component of the Peloton class experience -- and pro-social initiatives.

The launch of the collaboration with Beyoncé, the most requested artist by Peloton's global community of more than 3.6 million members, is commemorating Homecoming season, an annual fall celebration for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that honors tradition and legacy. While most of this year's Homecoming festivities shifted to virtual celebrations due to the global pandemic, Beyoncé and Peloton worked closely to create a series of themed workout experiences to help extend Homecoming to Peloton members via classes across multiple fitness categories, including indoor cycling, running, strength, bootcamp, yoga and meditation.

The two are also gifting two-year Peloton Digital memberships to students at 10 HBCUs, providing access to a full library of fitness classes through the Peloton App that can be used with or without equipment. The digital memberships will go to students at Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Texas Southern University, and Wilberforce University, by the end of November. Additionally, Peloton will build on its relationships with each of these schools to pursue long-term recruiting partnerships at both the internship and undergraduate levels.

"Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys," said Beyoncé. "I've been a Peloton member for several years, and I'm excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way. I'm proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens."
