Beyoncé and Peloton Team Up for Unprecedented Partnership

Klaudia//November 10, 2020
Peloton, the world's leading interactive fitness platform, and GRAMMY® Award-winning global entertainer and entrepreneur, Beyoncé, today announced a broad, multi-year partnership rooted in the celebration of music -- a central component of the Peloton class experience -- and pro-social initiatives.

The launch of the collaboration with Beyoncé, the most requested artist by Peloton's global community of more than 3.6 million members, is commemorating Homecoming season, an annual fall celebration for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that honors tradition and legacy. While most of this year's Homecoming festivities shifted to virtual celebrations due to the global pandemic, Beyoncé and Peloton worked closely to create a series of themed workout experiences to help extend Homecoming to Peloton members via classes across multiple fitness categories, including indoor cycling, running, strength, bootcamp, yoga and meditation.

The two are also gifting two-year Peloton Digital memberships to students at 10 HBCUs, providing access to a full library of fitness classes through the Peloton App that can be used with or without equipment. The digital memberships will go to students at Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Texas Southern University, and Wilberforce University, by the end of November. Additionally, Peloton will build on its relationships with each of these schools to pursue long-term recruiting partnerships at both the internship and undergraduate levels.

"Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys," said Beyoncé. "I've been a Peloton member for several years, and I'm excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way. I'm proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens."

Beyoncé Covers The December Issue Of British Vogue

Klaudia//October 31, 2020
British Vogue unveiled Beyoncé as its December 2020 cover star on Friday (Oct. 30) with three jaw-dropping covers.

And in typical Beyoncé fashion, her cover will be one for the books: The photographer, 21-year-old Kennedi Carter, becomes the youngest cover photographer in British Vogue's 104-year history, capturing Bey sporting her latest Ivy Park x Adidas collection as well as a Mugler elastic-nylon mesh bodysuit and an Alexander McQueen evening jacket.

In the interview, conducted by editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, the 39-year-old superstar reveals how the events of 2020 "absolutely changed" her.

"It would be difficult to experience life in a pandemic and the current social unrest and not be changed. I have learnt that my voice is clearer when I am still," she says. "I truly cherish this time with my family, and my new goal is to slow down and shed stressful things from my life. I came into the music industry at 15 years old and grew up with the world watching, and I have put out projects nonstop."

She recalled her "back to back" creative projects over the last four years, starting with her 2016 album Lemonade and ending with her 2020 Disney+ visual album Black Is King.

Beyoncé's Second Ivy Park Collection Is More Size-Inclusive Than Ever

Klaudia//October 23, 2020
The Beyhive will be pleased.

Beyoncé and Adidas next week will drop their second Adidas x Ivy Park collection. Called Drip 2, the line includes several apparel pieces with more inclusive sizing and a gender-neutral aesthetic as well as accessories and an expanded assortment of footwear.

The launch will be supported by a campaign titled “This Is My Park” featuring the singer in a series of images and videos asking the viewer to find their park — the place, real or imagined, that defines and centers them.

During the pandemic, Beyoncé said she looked inward to mentally, physically and emotionally find her park. Much of that centered around Zoom calls and what she and her children call Fashion Fridays, where she posted some of her most iconic looks on social media, that helped them navigate the new pandemic-induced normal. With the second Ivy Park collection, she’s encouraging her fans to do the same by exploring questions such as: where is your beast mode, what drives you, where do your dreams lie, what is your motivation? For her, the response is: your park.

The Drip 2 collection, which she began teasing on her Instagram page to her 155 million followers earlier this week, includes pieces that can be worn in and out of the gym. It utilizes Unite Fit, a new standard for inclusive and genderless sizing, and offers sizes that range from XXXS to 4X for the apparel collection in many styles. A selection of belts, socks, hats, functional belt bags, fanny packs and a duffle bag are designed to complement the apparel.

Beyoncé Among Voters For Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums

Klaudia//September 25, 2020
Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time was originally published in 2003, with a slight update in 2012. Over the years, it’s been the most widely read — and argued over — feature in the history of the magazine (last year, the RS 500 got over 63 million views on the site). But no list is definitive — tastes change, new genres emerge, the history of music keeps being rewritten. So we decided to remake our greatest albums list from scratch. To do so, we received and tabulated Top 50 Albums lists from more than 300 artists, producers, critics, and music-industry figures (from radio programmers to label heads, like Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman). The electorate includes Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish; rising artists like H.E.R., Tierra Whack, and Lindsey Jordan of Snail Mail; as well as veteran musicians, such as Adam Clayton and the Edge of U2, Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan, Gene Simmons, and Stevie Nicks.

When we first did the RS 500 in 2003, people were talking about the “death of the album.” The album —and especially the album release — is more relevant than ever. (As in 2003, we allowed votes for compilations and greatest-hits albums, mainly because a well-made compilation can be just as coherent and significant as an LP, because compilations helped shaped music history, and because many hugely important artists recorded their best work before the album had arrived as a prominent format.)

Of course, it could still be argued that embarking on a project like this is increasingly difficult in an era of streaming and fragmented taste. But that was part of what made rebooting the RS 500 fascinating and fun; 86 of the albums on the list are from this century, and 154 are new additions that weren’t on the 2003 or 2012 versions. The classics are still the classics, but the canon keeps getting bigger and better.

You can see the entire list, which includes Beyoncé's "Lemonade" at No. 32, here.

Alicia Keys Talks About Releasing "Put It In A Love Song" Video

Klaudia//September 20, 2020
STEREOGUM: So I know you talked about this a bunch of times, but I have to ask it because I still want to know: What’s the update on your “Put It In A Love Song” video with Beyoncé? I know you said four years ago the video didn’t capture the energy that you wanted and you guys are both perfectionists. But is it still in the vault?

KEYS: Honestly now, I’m trying to figure out where it is. But I am going to find it. I feel like at this point in our lives, since we’ve been able to do our thing and we all get that was a cool moment between us, we might both be at the place where we can say, “Let’s just throw it out there for fun.” I’m going to try to remember and not forget. I’m gonna see if we can get that ASAP to the fans.

Beyoncé commandeers local Hamptons TV studio for top-secret shoot

Klaudia//September 16, 2020
Beyoncé shut down a tiny local TV studio in the Hamptons to record a top-secret video, Page Six is told — and she had the facility give the boot to other people who were booked to shoot there.

Sources say that the superstar suddenly decided to take over the LTV studio in Wainscott, LI — which usually turns out local-access programming — at the end of August to make the mystery project.

“It’s a big studio with two separate buildings,” said a source. “The whole thing was closed for Beyoncé so nobody could go in.” We’re told that the “Black Parade” singer took over the place for four days.

One of the people told to scram happened to be a Page Six favorite, socialite Jean Shafiroff, who shoots her show there every week. We’re told she usually tapes “Successful Philanthropy” mid-week, but got an e-mail telling her that her slot had been shifted to Friday.

Shafiroff said, “I love Beyoncé, so I was happy to give her my time at the studio. I canceled my guest and I’m interviewing her this week instead.” She added, “My only regret is that Beyoncé didn’t invite us to watch the taping, now that all the big concerts have been canceled.” Shafiroff was due to interview Loida Lewis, the first Asian woman to pass the New York bar.
