Beyoncé's 'Renaissance' tour breaks all-time record

Klaudia//September 2, 2023
The "Break My Soul" singer just broke some records. Beyoncé's ‘Renaissance World Tour' has become the highest-grossing tour by a woman artist in history-- at more than $461 million, according to reports.

Chart Data said the last titleholder was Madonna for her "Sticky & Sweet Tour," back in 2008-09.

She performed to a sold-out crowd at Levi's Stadium Wednesday night and her show went past an 11 p.m. curfew that had been extended treating her fans to a memorable show that lasted nearly three hours.

Beyonce Leads 2023 VMAs Nominations in Social Categories

When the nominations for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards were announced on Aug. 8, Beyoncé had just a single nomination (albeit a big one) – artist of the year. Queen Bey did better in the nominations in four socially voted categories, which were announced on Friday (Sept. 1). She received three nods in the social categories, which put her in a tie with Taylor Swift for the most in these four categories.

The two megastars are going head-to-head for show of the summer, song of summer and album of the year (in addition to the previously announced artist of the year).

Beyoncé Named Honorary Mayor of Santa Clara

Klaudia//August 31, 2023
It's official: Beyoncé can add another title to her already lengthy resume — mayor.

On Wednesday, the "Break My Soul" musician was named honorary mayor of Santa Clara, California and given a key to the city when she brought her Renaissance Tour to the city’s Levi’s Stadium on Wednesday.

During her concert, Beyoncé, 41, paused to express her appreciation for the honor.

"I'm so excited. I'm so happy to be on stage. Y'alls faces are so beautiful. You know today's special because today...I am the mayor," she told the crowd in a fan-captured TikTok video.

She added, "This is my gratitude tour. I don't take any of this for granted. I know after 25 years I'm still able to do what I love, and it's because of your loyalty and because of your prayers. I'm so grateful for y'all."

To commemorate the evening, Beyoncé also shared a carousel of images on Instagram from the concert, which featured the singer in a sequin red headscarf, a strapless black mini dress with a sweetheart neckline and sparkly black platform boots.

Beyoncé asks fans to wear silver to 'Renaissance' shows for Virgo season

Klaudia//August 25, 2023
Beyoncé is celebrating her birthday month — and “Virgo season” — in style.

On Tuesday, the Grammy-winner — who turns 42 on Sept. 4 — gave fans attending upcoming dates on her Renaissance World Tour some very specific sartorial direction in a fun Instagram Story.

“Virgo season is upon us,” her post began. “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 - 9.22!”

During the dates Beyoncé listed — which correspond to the singer's zodiac sign, Virgo — her tour will visit Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Inglewood, Vancouver, Seattle and Dallas, giving fans in the U.S. and Canada a chance to put together some sparkling attire.

The singer also included an image of a sparkling silver cowboy hat she wears on the tour above her message, which shared her joyful vision for the atmosphere the silver-adorned crowd would create.

"We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo season together in a house of chrome. See you there!” Beyoncé continued.

“Your B at RWT” she concluded her message.

Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour Is Heading for a $500M+ Finish

Klaudia//August 13, 2023
The first month of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour situated her atop Billboard’s Top Tours chart in May. With reports for June, the entire European leg of the tour blew past the $150 million mark, making it the biggest non-U.S. leg of any Beyoncé tour. Now, with data for the trek’s first batch of North American shows, the bigger picture is coming more clearly into focus.

According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, Beyoncé earned $141.4 million on the first 12 Renaissance shows in U.S. and Canada, selling 553,000 tickets. That puts the tour’s overall figures at $295.8 million and 1.6 million tickets, current through her Aug. 1 concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Approaching the $300 million mark, the Renaissance World Tour is now Beyoncé’s highest grossing tour yet, passing 2016’s The Formation World Tour ($256.1 million) and 2018’s On the Run II Tour alongside Jay-Z ($253.5 million).

In exceeding the gross of her own two previous tours, the Renaissance World Tour resets the record for the highest grossing tour by an R&B artist, or any Black artist in Boxscore history. Beyoncé previously held the title with the Formation World Tour and before that, with The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in 2013-14 ($211.9 million).
