Beyonce & Jay-Z Get Photoshoot Fresh

Klaudia//September 26, 2011
Looks like The Carters are still busy at work. Jay-Z & Beyonce were spotted outdoors on the set of a new photoshoot (or possible video shoot for that matter) today. And the pair were engaging in a little downtime with Bey looking subdued in a grey tank top and Jay in his usual grey t-shirt. Jay just performed and partied it up in Vegas Friday night, but the couple was likely back in NYC today...seeing that the two kids in the pic above (named Chance & Summer) belong to Jay's long time stylist June Ambrose. And June, whose reality show kicks off February 2012 on VH1, spent Saturday in NYC celebrating her son Chance's 10th birthday at Bowlmor Lanes. No word yet on what (or who) the shoot is for exactly. But we're sure the final product will come out soon. Awwww look at that side profile of the baby bump....

Beyonce on the cover of In Style magazine

Klaudia//August 16, 2011
Beyoncé is InStyle’s September cover girl! After a nine-month break from touring, we catch up with the superacheiver to talk happiness, sanity, new projects (her album 4 and her perfume Pulse), and running the world. “I sacrificed so much as a kid and as a teenager,” she says. “I have no regrets because my job kept me focused. When you’re young—18 or 19—you have the energy and drive. That’s the time to work as hard as you can. Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.” Though, when she gets down time, she maximizes it. “In my free time I prefer to do nothing but sit on the couch and watch TV,” she says. “I have to confess that my guilty pleasure is Jersey Shore.” And throughout everything, she always makes time for friendship. “I am a girl’s girl. Women who don’t have female friends scare me. I love my friends, and I love sitting with them and listening to their stories.” For more of our exclusive interview with Beyoncé, pick up the new September issue of InStyle, on newsstands Friday.

Beyoncé's Rooftop Photo Shoot

Klaudia//July 22, 2011
On a warm spring afternoon in Paris, Beyoncé took to the roof of the hotel Le Meurice with Parisian photographer Greg Gex to shoot photos for her new album, 4. The shoot was captured on 8mm film, and you'll recognize in the video the looks that went on to appear on the standard and deluxe covers and in the album booklet.

Beyoncé Covers Complex's August/September 2011 Issue

Klaudia//July 19, 2011
It's hard to believe that it was only eight years ago that Beyoncé released her debut solo album (and appeared on her first Complex cover). Today, she moves like a seasoned vet, blowing her pop peers out of the water with her professionalism and power on stage. With her latest album 4, it seems like B is pushing every aspect of her career in bold new creative directions, which makes her the perfect person to cover our annual Style & Design issue, where we showcase all the cutting edge developments in Complex's world. For the cover story, we recruited photographer Thierry Le Gouès and artist Ebon Heath, who created the unique typography sculptures that surround B. The August/September issue doesn't officially hit stands until August 9, but we're giving you a chance to check out the full cover story, extended gallery, and behind-the-scenes video now.

For Her New Look, Beyoncé Goes Under the Radar

Klaudia//July 18, 2011
Beyoncé Knowles’s latest chart-topping album hit stores less than a month ago. But it is not the singer’s music that has the fashion world buzzing. The fourth album by the artist, titled “4,” features a fold-out cover that looks more like a glossy fashion magazine spread than a record sleeve. As with other leading pop music divas like Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry, fashion has always played a big role in Ms. Knowles’s artistic persona. In her music videos, she uses outfits to take on different roles — from sexy diva in sky-high heels and a leotard in “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” to joyous bride in a wedding dress for her latest video “Best Thing I Never Had” — while onstage, revealing ensembles spice up her live performances. The difference, this time, is in her choice of designers. Instead of sticking to major fashion houses like Versace, Gucci, Prada or Chanel, the singer has thrown the spotlight on a number of up-and-coming designers whose names are likely to be unfamiliar to all but the most diehard fashion followers. Ms. Knowles’s creative director, Jenke-Ahmed Tailly, along with the singer’s stylist Ty Hunter, pointed her in the direction of these designers. “The album is a musical gumbo of everything Beyoncé likes,” said Mr. Tailly in an interview by telephone. “Each song really has a different personality so we decided to do the cover like an editorial for a magazine, with each song having its own style.”
