Inside Beyonce & Jay-Z's 2018 Oscars Afterparty

March 5, 2018

Attending the Oscars may haven been the opportunity of a lifetime, but there was an even cooler and more exclusive event happening after the awards show — Beyoncé and Jay-Z threw an afterparty at the Chateau Marmont in L.A.

The party was to celebrate singer Mary J. Blige, who was nominated for two Academy Awards — as Best Supporting Actress in Mudbound, as well as for her song from the movie, “Mighty River.” (She’s the first person ever to earn an Oscar nomination for both an acting performance and an original song in the same film.)

The event was held in the underground garage of the hotel on Sunset Boulevard and an insider tells Us Weekly that security was already tight hours before the soiree kicked off on Sunday, March 4.

“The underground garage of the Chateau Marmont has been transformed into a very classy, old-school Hollywood glamor lounge,” the insider says. “There was a huge crystal chandelier hanging from the center of the garage. Black carpet has been laid down with white booths set against the wall to give guests plenty of room to dance. There was also a classic two-door coupe sports car in the center of the room.”

The insider tells Us that guests at the party, which started at about 11:30 p.m., entered and exited the celebration via a walkway that has been shielded with blackout curtains.

“They already blocked off the driveway,” a second source told Us before the event. “A lot of hotel guests are mad.”

The music power couple hosted 150 guests at the bash and the invite said, “No sitting, you have to be up and dancing.”

Cuban children theater company "La Colmenita" gave a present to US artist Beyonce, who could hardly contain her emotions.

"Thanks, it was beautiful," said the US star after the presentation of La Cenicienta (Cinderella) which is one of the most successful works by La Colmenita, directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata.

Accompanied by her husband, US talented rapper and musical producer Jay-Z, Beyonce went to the presentation and their talent lividly impressed both artists.

"It was an amazing show", said Jay-Z to Prensa Latina just before they departed from the place, to continue with their private visit, with which they celebrate five years of marriage.

Without too much protocol, both artists came to the venue of La Colmenita, looking for some place, intimate and familiar, to end up dancing the songs played by Cuban ensemble Los Van Van, together with the kids, and later enjoying a salsa version of the song "Little Ladies" that made both famous artists smile.

The contagious rhythm had them get up from their seats, and they mingled with the Cuban children, who taught them to dance guaguanco and play the famous Cuban clave.

"We wanted to have this as a present from us. We wanted you to have peace, to enjoy the children's talent," said Carlos Alberto Cremata, the founder and director of the company that is already a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
Invites for the May 6 Costume Institute Benefit are starting to arrive, and they feature a surprise high-wattage celebrity name — Beyoncé.

Beyoncé Knowles has been added to this year's gala as honorary chair. While unconfirmed, it's possible the entertainer could join co-chairs Rooney Mara, Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, Lauren Santo Domingo and Vogue editor in chief and Condé Nast artistic director Anna Wintour on the receiving line.

The benefit celebrates the "Punk: Chaos to Couture" exhibition, which runs at the Metropolitain Museum of Art from May 9 to August 14.
Amid the neon lights installed at the Museum of Modern Art’s Garden Lobby during the Armory Party last night, the art set swayed along to a performance by Solange — artist Rashaad Newsome was spotted in the front row — before cutting loose for an all-out dance party at the R&B singer’s bidding. “Who’s got their dancing shoes on?” she asked, coaxing the art world pep rally along.

Guests who had, for some reason, looked up and turned around during the show might have spotted a voluminous expanse of blonde hair on the second floor. Seemingly sitting in the rafters were surprise (but not so surprising) guests Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Phone raised, massive curls bouncing from side to side, B looked to be taking in the scene via videophone.

The beautiful, multi-talented singer-songwriter and mother Beyoncé proved on the Grammys red carpet that she’s got a playful side too. Check out her “photobomb” during TV Guide Network’s live red carpet special with special guest host Nikki Boyer.

Alicia Keys launched her latest album “Girl On Fire” in style by throwing a star-studded party in New York on Tuesday night.

The singer kicked off the week with the lights of New York’s Empire State Building being synchronized to her fifth record’s title track and her huge hit with pal Jay-Z, “Empire State of Mind.”

She continued the celebrations on Tuesday by hosting a VIP bash at Big Apple club The Box, where she was joined by her record producer husband Swizz Beatz and a host of A-list pals including Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and designer Tommy Hilfiger.

Keys was presented with a cake featuring her image made out of icing, and reportedly hit the dance floor with Beyonce while her partner, Swizz Beatz, acted as MC on the decks.
Where can you find Jay-Z bouncing to some pretty girly music in a sea of colorful oxfords, natural hair, and random art? At Solange’s listening event in New York City, of course. The constantly evolving chanteuse, never just known as Beyoncé’s little sister, is set to drop her EP, TRUE, on iTunes on November 27. The record is a mélange of kicky dance tracks co-written and produced by Devonté “Dev” Hynes, who giddily admitted, “There’s no one in the world I’d rather have worked with on this than Solange.”

An intimate group of press, along with Solange’s crew, came out to support her last night at a small studio converted into a modern-day speakeasy in the heart of SoHo. The charming pop of the cork every few minutes provided an extra beat to the album as Armand de Brignac (the gold bottle that replaced Cristal for Hov years ago) poured relentlessly into champagne flutes.

Solange glowed for good reason—the EP she shared with the crowd after a brief introduction was energetic, fresh, and creative, an amalgamation of nostalgic influences from the greats, with a twist of the contemporary beats that would make The Neptunes jealous. Also, perhaps because of her experience as a DJ, it came together in a cohesive way like the progression of a night on the dance floor. As the songs flowed out of the speakers, no one could stay in their seats, including hip-hop’s royal couple. Proud big sister B swept her caramel tresses into a ponytail a few minutes in and got off a couch to hit the floor with her hubby.
