Nicki Minaj Has Beyoncé, Rihanna, & Avril Lavigne on her iPod

Klaudia//April 8, 2011
Nicki Minaj has been keeping busy since the release of her platinum debut Pink Friday, but she’s managed to find some time in her hectic schedule to listen to other artists’ music. The Young Money diva, who is currently on the “I Am Music II” tour with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Travis Barker, shared who’s buzzing in her ear. “I listen to Beyoncé, I listen to Rihanna, I listen to Kanye, and of course Lil Wayne,” she said on set of her Elle magazine photo shoot. “Of course Drake. I listen to a lot of gospel music. I listen to Cyndi Lauper, Avril Lavigne… I just bought a whole bunch of reggae like Mavado and Lady Saw and Beenie Man.”

Ginuwine Compares Beyonce to Aaliyah

Klaudia//March 25, 2011
If you've ever wondered where Aaliyah would stand in today's music world if she were still alive, just ask Ginuwine. Aaliyah and Ginuwine were thick as thieves back in the late '90s -- along with Timbaland, Missy Elliott and the rest of the original Supafriends. Since Aaliyah's death in 2001, a favorite debate among R&B listeners about who carries her legacy always crops up. Ginuwine's answer? He told AOL's The Boombox that it's Beyonce. "Aaliyah was in a class by herself," Ginuwine tells The BoomBox. "If you're talking triple threat of a writer, singer and actress, that would probably be Beyoncé. If Aaliyah were still here, she and Beyoncé would be neck and neck." While the Aaliyah comparisons with newer artists still float on today, Ginuwine says it's nothing to shun. "Ain't nothing wrong with that," he says. "I think everyone should aspire to be someone great, and that was one of the greats. Aaliyah was one of the great ones."

Gwyneth Paltrow emotional about Beyoncé friendship

Klaudia//March 25, 2011
Gwyneth Paltrow says Beyoncé Knowles is such a good friend it brings tears to her eyes. The Hollywood actress and her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, are close pals with singing superstar Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z. The foursome love spending time together and Gwyneth turned to Beyoncé for advice when she landed a role as singer Kelly Canter in her latest movie Country Strong. The Oscar-winner knew the songstress would be the perfect person to teach her how to play a successful musician, but Gwyneth was still blown away by how supportive Beyoncé was. “I asked my two great singer friends Faith Hill and Beyoncé who are super successful on the level that Kelly Canter is supposed to be,” Gwyneth replied to British television show Lorraine when asked how she prepared for the movie role. “I picked their brains and I watched them and watched their concerts and I really tried to get them. They were wonderful to me, so supportive. I could cry thinking about how incredible they were to me. You know, a good girlfriend is such a valuable thing, it really is, and they really stepped up to the plate for me.”

Shontelle Calls Beyonce A 'Living Legend'

Klaudia//March 25, 2011
Shontelle has called Beyonce a "living legend" after going on tour with her, revealing she was a massive fan of the former Destiny's Child singer. The Bajan star has also admitted that Queen B is the only star she would watch every night when she was touring, after being blown away by her performances. 'Impossible' singer Shontelle gushed about her touring experiences with BeyBey, exclaiming to MTV's The Wrap Up: "Queen B! That was one of the most epic experiences of my little old career. I learned so much from her. "I thought I knew how to perform until I saw her perform every day. After being on tour with her, you have to step your game up. You literally feel like you're at the bottom of the sewers or something when next to her." She added: "Every night she just blew me away. I've done a few tours, but Beyonce's tour was the only one that I'd stay and watch every single night. I'm a fan." Shontelle, 25, also revealed how nervous she was to meet the 'Crazy In Love' singer and was amazed at how sweet she was. "During the tour, I got to speak with her in her dressing room and I was so nervous. They literally had to push me in. She's like a living legend. She was just the sweetest, most accommodating, and most present artist to be around. And she gave me such great inspiring advice. She's amazing."

Jessie J talks about Beyonce

Klaudia//March 18, 2011
NL: As a songwriter, who inspires you?

JJ: I’ve always been a massive MJ and Prince fan. When I was growing up, my mum and dad would play Tracy Chapman, D-Train…I’m a massive 80s punk fan and I love Funkadelics and Gap Band, Rose Royce. I just love 80s music. Like, the harmonies and the soul-ness of it. The melody and the lyrical content. Right now, I’m a huge Rihanna fan. I’ve always been slightly obsessed with her. And I think I idolize Beyoncé as a performer. But, you know, it’s weird because I don’t really get inspired a lot by other people. It’s gonna sound really awful like I don’t listen to music much because I do, but I don’t eat, breathe, live, smoke, eat — I said that already — music. I kind of just go with the flow. Like I’ll see a mum with her daughter playing in the street and that will spark an idea for a song. I don’t know. I don’t want to get too much inspired by what other people are doing because I don’t like copying them…but, yeah, I love writing songs. It’s my musical outlet.

NL: If you had your choice of a duet partner, who would be your dream partner?

JJ: Prince, all the way. Prince is like…oooh amazing! Him or Beyoncé. I think Beyoncé is the person that I think…Beyoncé, Jazmine Sullivan, Christina Aguilera, Kim Burrell, Pink…they vocally scare me, which is why I would love to work with them because I love a challenge. I would love to do a tune with Erykah Badu or Jazmine Sullivan or anyone I vocally idolize.

NL: If you could do an internship with any artist and learn from them first-hand, who would that be?

JJ: Oh my God. I would have to say Beyoncé. Ahead of everything, I just want to see her to see if she’s real and just to ask ‘how are you doing this? How are you conquering the world like this?’ I just think she’s amazing. I would kind of sit in and make notes.

'Essex' Lauren: 'I've got Beyoncé thighs'

Klaudia//March 15, 2011
The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger has spoken about her body image after posing for a new bikini shoot. Speaking to Closer magazine, Goodger said that she still wants to lose another half-a-stone, despite recently cutting her weight down to 9st 7lbs. "I'm one of those people who loses weight quickly, but puts it on just as quickly. If I train and eat healthily you can notice, and if I drink and eat rubbish you can notice," she said. "I'd like to get to nine stone. If I go below that my mum will tell me I look too thin! I'm a size 10 generally, but some of my clothes are a size eight so it would be nice to get into them by the summer." Goodger blamed filming of the ITV2 reality show for her weight gain last year, commenting: "Thankfully, my tummy stays quite flat but extra weight shows on my arms, face and legs." However, the reality TV star said that the one area she is proud of is her "Beyoncé thighs", which she said her ex-boyfriend Mark Wright found "sexy".

Ne-Yo Defends Beyonce 'Dis' Statements

Klaudia//March 15, 2011
When a comment from Ne-Yo hit the Internet in which the songwriter said that he wished he could have kept the Beyoncé hit "Irreplaceable" for himself, some took it as a dis to the star. "One song that I gave away and didn't want to, but it's actually a good thing that I did, is Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable'. I honestly wrote that song for myself, but that song taught me a very interesting lesson: Many women don't think that differently. ... However, a man singing it comes across a little bit misogynistic, a little bit mean," Ne-Yo, who wrote the song, said in an interview. When it was implied on Twitter that Ne-Yo was dissing the Sasha Fierce star with his comments, the singer/songwriter defended himself. "Aiight my dude. Send me the link to where I said ANYTHING disrespectful about Beyonce, PLEASE! Dying to hear this," he wrote. "Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyonce. ARE Y'ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y'all even listen to what I said!?!" Ne-Yo then continued to tweet his anger toward those who misunderstood what he said. "I said I originally wrote the song for me. That's true, so OF COURSE I didn't want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME," he wrote. "Once I realized how the song comes across if sung by a guy, that's when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?! She took the song and made it a smash, NOBODY can deny that ... "You know what? At first I was apologetic about what the hacker said, now that I've heard the audio myself, not so much," he continued. "Y'all should listen a lil' harder before you start dissin' people. Makes you look real dumb. I'm tired of being nice to dumb people. ... Bottom line, Beyonce is my friend. To HELL with anybody that ain't SMART enough to understand what I truly meant."

Ne-Yo wants Beyonce song back

Klaudia//March 10, 2011
Message for Beyonce – Ne-Yo called and he wants his song back. The US R&B singer, 31, is regretting giving her his best tune. He told Choice FM: “One song that I gave away and didn’t want to is Beyonce’s Irreplaceable. “I honestly wrote that song for myself. But that song actually taught me a very interesting lesson – men and women don’t actually think that much differently in the grand scheme of things. “However, a man singing it comes across a little bit misogynistic, a little bit mean.” So do you, wanting that song back...

Lady GaGa Says No To Collaborations

Klaudia//March 6, 2011
Lady GaGa has ruled-out recording any more duets for the time being. When asked if her new album Born This Way features any big name collaborations, the Alejandro singer said she's more concerned with being a solo artist for now. "I want to stand on my own two feet," explained GaGa. "I’ve already collaborated with my favorite female in the business," she added, referring to her duet with Beyonce on the song Telephone. Despite not wanting to collaborate in the studio, GaGa did perform on stage with 10-year-old Maria Aragon earlier this week, after being impressed by the youngster's YouTube cover of Born This Way.

Thierry Mugler: Beyoncé is better than Madonna!

Klaudia//March 6, 2011
French designer Thierry Mugler, who designed all the dresses for Beyoncé’s last tour, gave an interview to Paris-Match. Of course he gives her much praise and also bashes Madonna, whom he never worked with… “Beyoncé is THE showgirl! She works non-stop. She’s a hundred times better than Madonna when it comes to dancing and singing. Madonna is in her fifties trying to dye her hair blond to look younger. That’s a mistake! People in their 50s needs to use what they’ve got: style, a good haircut and make-up. All those things are so much more important than three small wrinkles.”

Alexis Jordan: Beyoncé gives me life tips

Klaudia//March 6, 2011
Alexis Jordan makes sure she tells her mother all about her life – because Beyoncé Knowles told her to. The 18-year-old star found fame after appearing on the first season on America's Got Talent in 2006. She didn’t win, but after taking part she decided to promote herself on video sharing website YouTube, resulting in Jay-Z and production group Stargate signing her to their label Star Roc/Roc Nation. The rapper has given Alexis a lot of tips, and she has also grown close to his superstar wife Beyoncé. “Yes. I can’t lie – I talk to her a lot,” she said. “When Jay was touring in America, I would sit next to B and she told me, ‘Always talk to your mother,’ and I took that advice.” Jay-Z has also spent a lot of time giving Alexis words of advice. He also mentored Rihanna when she started out, and likes to make sure the young musicians he nurtures can cope with being in the spotlight. “He’s a boss,” she told Look. “He’s given me tips but I can’t tell you what he said – I keep our conversations private.”

Quizzed on where she would take the pair for dinner, King responded that she would select New York City eatery Per Se because the restaurant "has some of the best food ever tasted in life".

Kim Kardashian on singing: I'm no Beyoncé

Klaudia//February 16, 2011
Christina Aguilera can rest easy. There won't be any vocal aerobics or powerhouse pipes on display when Kim Kardashian's first record, "Turn It Up," drops in about three weeks. Kardashian, who collaborated on the one-off single with music producer The-Dream, admits to MTV that she was concerned about her singing skills before heading into the recording studio. "You know, it was something that I was really uncomfortable and nervous about, and really just wanted me to step outside of my box and try something I've never done before," says the "Kourtney & Kim Take New York" star. "So I was really honest. I'm like, 'You're not gonna get Beyoncé here, you're not gonna get Celine Dion,' and he really pulled something out of me."

Klaudia//February 16, 2011
The rising star told Metro before her big moment: ‘I’d love to join Beyoncé on stage at Glastonbury if she’ll let me.’ The fiercely dressed British sensation also vowed to go spiky stiletto-to-stiletto with Pink and Katy Perry in the pop charts after picking up the Critics’ Choice gong at the O2 arena in London. ‘I don’t feel people have done this for a long time, especially female artists,’ she said after her second single, Price Tag, reached the chart summit this month. ‘I am proud to say that I am British and proud to say I am ready to take on the likes of Pink and Beyoncé and Katy Perry and really make a name for British icons,’ she continued. ‘I know it is a big thing to say but I feel like I am ready for it. Whether it happens or not, I believe I can push boundaries. As long as I am happy and I am doing me then I can’t make any mistakes really.’

Justin Bieber Wants To Kiss Beyoncé

Klaudia//February 11, 2011
Justin Bieber has revealed which lucky lady is his dream Valentines Day date and it's not his rumoured girlfriend Selena Gomez. The Baby hitmaker, who premiered his new 3D movie Never Say Never in LA earlier this week, has admitted that he is hoping to share a smooch with a certain Bootylicious babe on 14th February, that's if her hubby doesn't mind. Speaking to Radio Disney's DJ Ernie D about his dream Valentines Day, Bieber confessed: "That Beyoncé kissed me. Don't be mad at me Jay-Z... please don't be mad,” Despite his love for the former Destiny's Child singer, Justin had nothing but good things to say about his suspected girlfriend Selena, telling reporters on the red carpet at the premiere that the 18-year old actress is a "great person." When asked about Gomez, Biebs gushed: "She's a great person. And as long as you keep yourself surrounded by good people, you'll go far." However, People.com has since reported that Justin and the Disney star "kept their distance" at the event in Los Angeles, making sure that they were not near each other on the red carpet.

Adam Lambert Wants Duet With Beyonce

Klaudia//February 11, 2011
Grammy-nominated rocker Adam Lambert has named David Bowie and Beyonce as performers he would like to work with. In a Wednesday appearance on CBS' The Talk, Lambert answered questions from fans. When asked if he wanted to be a dad, Lambert responded that he loved the idea. “A very close couple of mine, they just had a baby and I went to the hospital to visit the baby – six pounds, his name is Riff – and I held that baby. And I've never held a newborn before. I thought to myself, 'Wow, it's such a miracle.' And I think at some point in my life, when maybe things calm down a little bit, if I find somebody I can love and raise a family with, I would love that.” And when asked who he would like to record a duet with, Lambert named David Bowie. “I've always had this dream of working with David Bowie. I think that would be so cool. Such an innovator, such an artist. He was not afraid to be different and break the mold. And he wrote amazing music.” When the fan suggested Beyonce, Lambert agreed: “That would be great.”
