Beyoncé Talks About Womanhood and Sensuality

Klaudia//November 4, 2011
Impending motherhood is definitely treating Beyoncé well. When the 30-year-old launched her third perfume, Pulse, in New York City, she couldn't stop gushing about how wonderful it is to be a woman. "Everything that I always wanted is happening," the singer told OMG! "It happens in God's time, and I am happy it is happening now. It is the best time of my life." Some of the few successes going on in her life include her House of Dereon fashion line in London, her platinum album, 4, the release of her third fragrance, and a bun in the oven with husband Jay-Z. "The fact that I am a woman is such a gift. And I am about to give the biggest gift a human can ever have," she says. "I just feel so strong. It is like a miracle." As for her latest fragrance, which has a warm mix of citrus gourmand, Madagascar vanilla and bluebird orchid, Beyoncé shared her source for inspiration — Hollywood. "I just think about Elizabeth Taylor and all of the icons that I respect, and they have their own scent. I think it is a part of being an icon," she said. "For me to be one of those women, I don't take it lightly." "I believe all women have that sensuality and power within them, and hopefully this fragrance can enhance that, bring that out, and leave a lasting impression on everyone you pass by," Beyoncé said. "For me, is the last accessory when I get ready. It makes me feel so confident." Speaking of Hollywood legends, Bey will be teaming up with one in the upcoming year. She will be the leading lady in director Clint Eastwood's remake of the Barbara Streisand movie, A Star Is Born. Production will start next year, but Beyoncé has already began working on the soundtrack.

Beyonce: Kelly Rowland's always checking up on me

Klaudia//October 19, 2011
Kelly Rowland may be busy with her X Factor mentoring duties, but she's still a loyal and caring friend to Beyoncé Knowles. The Destiny's Child bandmates are in regular contact - especially since Beyoncé fell pregnant. 'We speak and text all the time,' says Beyoncé, 30. 'With me being pregnant, she is always checking up on me to see how I am doing.' Kelly, 30, formed a special bond with Beyoncé when she moved into her home after they formed Destiny's Child at the age of 8. 'We have known each other for so long, we are like sisters,' she says. 'She isn't just somebody I was in a group with, this girl is my family.'

Beyonce backs Janet Devlin to win UK X Factor

Klaudia//October 19, 2011
Pop superstar Beyonce has backed Janet Devlin to win the UK X Factor. The 30-year-old thinks Janet, who is one of the acts in her former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland's category, is one to watch in this year's competition. The Best Thing I Never Had singer said: 'For sure I think Kelly will win, not just because she is my sister but because I really do think that she has the strongest acts. 'The girl group Rhythmix are very current and the guys all have good voices, but I see the winner coming from Kelly's group.' She added: 'It's the public voting for it, and you can't second guess who the public might like. These shows are as much about personality and winning over the public as they are performance and vocals. 'Janet is very sweet, I can see the public becoming very endeared towards her and picking up the phone.' As well as being a fan of Devlin, the pregnant star is also predicting big things from Misha B. She added in an interview with British New! magazine: 'There is something very endearing about Janet, but there is something very special about Misha and from what I have heard from Kelly she is just going to get better and better.'

That Time I Met Beyonce & She Revealed What Makes Her Pulse Race

Klaudia//September 29, 2011
When my Senior Editor sent me a text late one night that only read “URGENT!!!” (preceded by two phone calls back to back), I was worried. Then when I responded and she only casually asked me about my plans for the next day, I was confused (and annoyed). It was only then she said, “No, you’re interviewing Beyonce.” And then I was happy. Like drug-induced happy. But that was quickly replaced by skepticism because I’m a jaded journalist and artists cancel all the time. ALL THE TIME. Minutes before. Hours later. Often with apologies that don’t matter. So, I refused to believe this news until I actually saw Beyonce in front of me, likely towering over me in heels I’d never be able to walk in and sporting the wavy hair I’ve been trying to perfect to no avail. For the same reason (skepticism), I didn’t tell anybody either – hid it from my friends, family & co-workers – which I discovered is a lot like trying to hide the fact that you’re…well, pregnant. (Oh, me and Bey, one and the same! Not.) But that’s how it went down. I spent the rest of the night treating the interview as if it were a date, trying on clothes and tearing them off. Things I’d had for years suddenly didn’t fit. Things that once complemented each other were now clashing. Your mind really starts to unravel once it finds out it’s going to meet Beyonce. Just completely deteriorates. You become convinced (convinced, I tell you!) that if you dress just well enough, she’ll be so impressed, she’ll make you her stylist. And that if you ask the right question – one she hasn’t heard in her 15 years in the business – she’ll be so dazzled, she’ll make you her publicist. All current position-holders will be fired. You and Beyonce are now best friends. Now, try going to sleep knowing that your life’s about to change. TRY!

Beyonce not slowing down

Klaudia//September 22, 2011

Now that Beyonce is pregnant, there are certain smells that turn her stomach. “My nose, I smell everything from a mile away,” Beyonce said during an interview with The Associated Press while wearing a long, flowing purple dress, her baby bump showing. “Usually it is food, it is onions or something that I just can’t tolerate.” Her new fragrance is not one of them. On Wednesday, Beyonce was busy promoting Pulse, her third scent. For the creator of girl-power anthems like “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and “Run the World (Girls),” Pulse represents another extension of that theme. “I always meet strong, powerful women and they always have a signature scent,” the 30-year-old said. “That is one of the first things I was so proud of. I thought about Diamonds and Elizabeth Taylor and all these icons, so I am so proud of this.”

AP: How is this fragrance different from your others?

Beyonce: This is very fresh. This is all about citrus, but it also has vanilla in the back. It is important for me for a fragrance not to just smell like one thing. I think women are interesting and I don’t like for you to be like, “Ok, this smells like this.” I like for it to be something signature and something that brings out your inner beauty and your confidence and makes you feel like you leave a long-lasting impression on someone.
