Last night Beyonce attended the Tyler Perry Studios Opening in Atlanta. She wore Anabela Chan laboratory-grown diamond earrings. After the event, she posted the following message on Instagram:

"Happy Sunday. Congratulations to Tyler Perry on the opening of his studios. I could feel our ancestors’ presence. Surrounded by my heroes, I watched Denzel, Queen Oprah, Spike, Whoopi, Sir Poitier, Will, Halle , Dame Cicely and our angels John Singleton and Diahann Carroll honored. The Armand de Brignac crashed against each soundstage as fireworks lit up the sky. Generations of blood, sweat and tears, success, excellence and brilliance. It makes me so proud, so full, I could not stop crying. Thank you my Virgo brother for so much love and passion put into every detail. My prayer today is that you will take it all in. You inspire me to dream even bigger."

June 1, 2019

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has teamed with producer and content creator Steve Jones to broadcast a special on the WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Foundation annual flagship charitable costume event, The Wearable Art Gala, for the first time in its three-year history. Founded by Tina Knowles Lawson and Richard Lawson, the WACO performing arts space located in North Hollywood is described as a creative center where art can truly occur and provides actors, artists, and youth a place to explore their talents.

Taking place this Saturday, the gala theme this year is A Journey to The Pride Lands, a nod to Disney’s upcoming Jon Favreau-directed The Lion King live-action remake which features the voice of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. Knowles-Carter serves as the event’s co-chair along with Solange, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. Emmy-winner Tiffany Haddish is master of ceremonies.

The gala also recognizes Tyler Perry and other individuals for their contributions to the entertainment industry and world at large, through their art. Award presenters are Oscar and Emmy winner Viola Davis and author Shaka Senghor.

As celebrity fans become more and more de rigeur, Italian designers are catering to the likes of Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue. Beyoncé, in particular, seemed to be making the rounds among Italian footwear designers during the Milan collections, picking out styles for her new album cover and tour. At Casadei, she chose a multicolored Swarovski ankle-strap sandal from the Atelier Collection, which designer Cesare Casadei said referenced 1980s opulence. He stressed that made-in-Italy craftsmanship is especially evident in the style, as it takes one person several days to mount and sew the 800 large Swarovski Elements crystals onto the straps. At Giuseppe Zanotti, Beyoncé was also one of the first to see the new handbag collection, which includes a structured envelope clutch called the Brighton that will be exclusive to the designer’s boutiques, among them the new Beverly Hills, Calif., location bowing in November to cater to his growing celebrity clientele. Beyoncé’s choice was the mosaic mirrored Brighton, along with several styles from the spring footwear collection, which Zanotti described as “much lighter with fewer platforms, and more about allure than over-the-top sexiness.”
Multi-Grammy award winning diva Beyonce stunned eventgoers at a New York Fashion Week showing on Sunday, September 12 when she appeared on the runway in designer Tom Ford's latest creations. "It was so much fun. It felt like a performance,” Beyonce tells WWD.com. “It had the energy of a live show. It's great to see people have fun in fashion." For the runway show, Beyonce let her hair lose in a big curl and wore heavy make-up on the eyes. She was joined actress Julianne Moore and Daphne Guinness for the Ford's much-anticipated show.
For those in the know (and, well, super famous), Tom Ford is currently holding a surprise and pseudo-secret women’s wear presentation in an undisclosed location on Madison Avenue. Earlier today, The Daily reported that celebs like Beyonce and Victoria Beckham were slated to model styles from Ford’s first women’s collection since March of 2004, and now Twitter has confirmed it. Ford had a show, and it was awesome. A ton of celebs walked, namely: Beyonce, Julianne Moore, Daphne Guinness, Lauren Hutton, and models galore. Also, Julianne Moore’s kids.

Coty have today announced the signing of international recording artist and actress Beyonce. The two parties will work together to create a Beyonce fragrance, which is due to launch in early 2010. "We welcome Beyonce as a well-respected and esteemed partner of the Coty family. She is a star who brings a combination of power and femininity that will only further inspire the creative process as she works with Coty," commented Bernd Beetz, Chief Executive Officer, Coty Inc. "Modern and highly influential, Beyonce has truly touched the lives of her fans and will continue to reach new heights in her career with the launch of her own signature fragrance. We are thrilled she has partnered with Coty to embark on this new adventure, one of vast potential." "For me, fragrance reflects a woman's attitude and unique sense of style," said Beyonce. "While I love various perfumes, I haven't found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman. Working with Coty, I was able to turn my ideal fragrance into a reality by creating an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that's reflective of my inner power. It's a true privilege to be working with Coty and I can't wait to share this personal side of me with fans all across the world." The new line is scheduled to launch in early 2010 in North and South America with subsequent plans to launch in Europe and key markets throughout the world later that year. "A name recognized around the globe, Beyonce holds a unique cross-generational and cross-continental appeal that is a perfect fit for a new global Coty fragrance," remarked Renato Semerari, President, Coty Beauty. "With her powerful ability to capture the attention of the world - a testament to her strength and beauty - she is a role model for women of all ages. We at Coty look forward to building the Beyonce fragrance house." Marketing plans for the highly anticipated fragrance are currently in development. Additional information will be announced closer to the launch.
Kanye West is no stranger to controversy, especially at award shows, but his latest stunt at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night may have pushed him over the edge. Shortly after country star Taylor Swift accepted the award for Best Female Video where she managed to beat out stiff competition like Beyonce and Lady Gaga, the singer became the victim of an apparent ambush on stage. Mid way through her speech, West charged to the stage, snatched the microphone from Swift and with a few words, managed to destroy what should have been a shining moment in her career. "Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'll let you finish," the rapper told a visibly stunned Taylor. "But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time ... one of the best videos of all time!" Taylor, who has never won a VMA before, was left speechless and nearly in tears. A camera shot caught Beyonce, among other stars, shocked at what had just transpired. The awkwardness could be felt throughout Radio City Music Hall. The show's producers scrambled to keep the show moving by running a pre-produced skit featuring rapper Eminem and comedian Tracy Morgan, but the damage was already done. Stars who were ringside for the spectacle, took to Twitter where they expressed their outrage. "Kanye west is the biggest piece of (expletive) on earth. Quote me," a fuming Pink tweeted from her seat in Radio City. According to reports, the singer had to be held back by security when she approached West in the venue. This, as Katy Perry held nothing back. " U KANYE. IT'S LIKE U STEPPED 0N A KITTEN," she tweeted. West left the venue shortly after his impromptu outburst. MTV News is reporting that the rapper was asked by show's producers to leave. Taylor eventually received her moment to finish her speech when she was summoned to the stage by Beyonce herself, following her historic win for Video of the Year for her catchy tune "Single Ladies" (Put A Ring On It). "Maybe we can try this again," Swift said, to a standing ovation. "I would really like to thank Roman White, who directed the video, and Lucas Till for being in it," she said. "I would like to thank all the fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone that came out to my shows this summer. And I would like to thank my little brother's high school for letting us shoot there." Beyonce, who walked away with the night's biggest award was left with no time to make her own speech. In essence, West not only put a damper on Taylor's night, but stole B's moment to shine. Billboard announced today (Aug. 25) that Beyoncé will be accepting its Woman Of The Year Award at the 2009 Billboard Women In Music Event, taking place on Oct. 2 in New York City. The honor, given to a female recording artist that has inspired the music business with her success, leadership and new ideas, will be awarded to the singer for her accomplishments over the past 12 months. In the last year, Beyoncé kicked off her world tour "I Am..." in support of her third solo album "I Am...Sasha Fierce," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in November and features the hit singles "If I Were A Boy," "Single Ladies," "Halo," "Ego" and "Sweet Dreams." The tour also showcased Beyoncé's philanthropic side as she gave 2,500 tickets to families affected by the auto industry crisis in Detroit and joined forces with General Mills Hamburger Helper and Feeding America to deliver 3.5 million meals to local food banks. "Beyoncé is multi-platinum artist and a multi-talented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman Of The Year Award was created to honor," said Bill Werde, Billboard's Editorial Director, about Beyoncé, who is the only performer in the 51-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 to top the chart for 10 weeks or more with a group and as a solo artist. "She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes." The Billboard Women in Music Event celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the music business and is also held in conjunction with the Women In Music Power Players List issue, which recognizes the top female music executives who are leading the industry with their artistic and business vision.
