Roseivyou Instagram account isn’t secretly for Beyoncé

Klaudia//October 24, 2018
Earlier this week, the mysterious Roseivyou Instagram account popped up leaving many to speculate it was a major hint that a new Beyoncé is on the way; a few guesses being a Netflix special and even a joint album with Kelly Rowland.

With the Queen's love of hints (like 2015 Instagram posts with lemons during a time she would likely have been working on 2016's Lemonade), it made sense to many that something was going on, coupled with a video Kelly Rowland posted of herself singing along to an unreleased track with the lyrics "Rose petals at my feet," and rose emojis in the video's caption just a week before the account showed up. A source close to Beyoncé tells The FADER, however, that this account has nothing to do with the singer.

Fans have been deconstructing the page and its posts in the last few days, figuring out that the vocals in the snippet are actually from Beyonce's "Grown Woman", despite the account amassing over 23k followers in just a few days.

I guess we can all unfollow now.

Beyonce And Kelly Rowland Joint Album Rumored To Be On The Way

Klaudia//October 16, 2018
Hive, alert! It looks like there very well may be another joint album with Beyoncé attached on the way…but this time, it’s not with her husband. It looks like Bey’s partner in crime will be none other than her sister in Destiny, Kelly Rowland. At least, that’s what we have in the way of fan speculation at the moment…

Sharp-eyed IG users noticed an ominous, yet unexplained countdown appear on the official “Everything is Love” album page, followed by an also unexplained rose, before finally dropping a snippet that has what sounds like a couple of very familiar voices harmonizing while a rose blooms.

With the name “Rose IV You” attached and the only accounts following being Tidal, Kelly’s, and Beyoncé’s…it sounds very much like this may be a new project from the two OG Destiny’s Children.

Beyonce's Director, Choreographers & More Talk 'Single Ladies'

Klaudia//July 29, 2018
This week, Billboard is celebrating the music video with a week's worth of content that looks at the past, present and future of the video, at a time when it seems to be as relevant as ever. Here, we flashback ten years for an extended look at how arguably the most legendary video from the 21st century's greatest music video star came together, and why its legacy endures a decade later.

On the St. Louis stop of the 2016 Formation World Tour, Beyoncé and her dancers -- including her dance captain, Ashley Everett -- were just about to wave their hands through the final bars of “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” when the pop star paused. The buoyant bass continued to blast as she vamped, coyly pacing the stage before she turned on her heel and signaled for a gentleman in a white jacket to join her. John Silver, Everett’s boyfriend, trotted into the spotlight and took the floor, where he presented his dumbstruck love with an engagement ring -- one that got an all-too-appropriate cameo during a sequence as familiar to the crowd as the “Single Ladies” chorus itself. If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it: he did, so he did, and Everett flicked her wrist and flashed her newly-minted diamond in the routine she helped create.

That such a life-changing moment went down in the middle of a “Single Ladies” performance is perfect, as the song has proven to be a monumentally transformative force in the lives of Beyoncé and those of her closest collaborators. Everett was at Beyoncé’s side when she filmed the music video for “Single Ladies” and in the three months leading up to the shoot, when they and choreographers Frank Gatson Jr. and JaQuel Knight worked tirelessly to hone every kick, waist-wind, and lift that would go on to define one of the most iconic dances in pop music history.

Beyoncé Is Reportedly Filming a Music Video at the Colosseum

Klaudia//July 18, 2018
Apparently shutting down one epicenter of cultural history was not enough for Beyoncé, because she is now reportedly trying to film something at the Colosseum. You know, the ancient Roman landmark where gladiators once dueled to the death some 2,000 years ago? Yep, that Colosseum.

According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Beyoncé has put in a request to film something at the Colosseum (it's not yet clear what). She initially requested to book the amphitheater on July 7 and July 8, when she and Jay-Z were in town for their On the Run II tour, but was reportedly rejected by Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage because Italian scientist Alberto Angela already had it reserved. Il Messaggero also notes her request was too last minute, as the Colosseum is “a very complicated place.” (Closing down the Louvre to shoot "Apes--t," on the other hand? A total breeze.)

But Beyoncé, being Beyoncé, is not ready to throw in the towel, and has reportedly resubmitted her request, which is currently under review.

It's worth mentioning she has filmed at the Colosseum before (remember that Pepsi commercial with Britney Spears and Pink?), so if the timing is right, it seems like things will be a go. Block out your Saturday nights for another surprise!

No I.D. reflects on 4:44 and how “Bam” almost went to Beyoncé

Klaudia//July 2, 2018
It's been a year since Jay Z released his thirteenth studio album, the critically acclaimed 4:44. In honor of its anniversary, producer No I.D., who picked up a producer of the year Grammy nomination for his work on the album, reflected on how it all came together and which beat on the album almost went to Beyoncé.

“Family Feud” (Featuring Beyoncé)

Scientifically to me, certain vibrational tones create a reaction, a feeling, an emotion, tension, joy or suspense. So that’s what I look for in music. Whether it’s musicians, sampling — whatever. And the The Clark Sisters just had this emotion already going. Just like joyous and pain and spiritual and I know part of Bey’s joy in music stems from that type of emotion.

And when I first did the music, of course I wanted her to be a part of the album and when she first heard the track, she was like, “Oh, no, no! I’m GETTING on that!” So she really kind of jumped in and did her part. And that song came in at the very end. Maybe about a week before the album came out. I didn’t really have to incorporate her. She’s a producer in her own right. She came in and wove herself right into it. Did an amazing job at completing the song to be honest.
