Beyonce to perform at the 2017 Grammy Awards

Klaudia//December 24, 2016
Beyonce and Adele are both set to perform at 2017 Grammy Awards, it's been confirmed.

The R&B superstar and Hello singer will go head-to-head in the categories for Album of The Year, Record of The Year and Song of The Year and Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich is confident both will perform on the night.

He told Billboard: "Very few people say no to the Grammys. Over all of the years I've been doing the show, there have been three or four acts who've actually said no.

"But I can tell you that Adele and Beyoncé are not two of them. We have every anticipation that both of them will be with us in February.

"We love a good horse race. It's a fine line: We love the competition aspect of it, but it's really more - here's the cliché - the family of music. I don't know how many of those three categories they're in together that we'll announce during the telecast, but we'll probably come pretty close. When you can start with that as a foundation for a show, you're in pretty good shape."

Tony Bennett Teases Beyoncé Collaboration

Klaudia//December 17, 2016
“The Best Is Yet to Come” for Tony Bennett, who at 90 years old is showing no signs of slowing down.

“There’s still a lot I’d like to do,” the iconic crooner tells PEOPLE.

The past two years, Bennett has won the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album trophy at the Grammys, this year for Cheek to Cheek, his collection of jazz duets with longtime pal Lady Gaga — and he insists there’s more classics where that came from.

“I’d love to do a second album with Lady Gaga,” he says. “She was performing at a benefit the first time I met her. I told her backstage, ‘You were terrific! I’d love to do an album with you someday.’ She said, ‘Let’s do it!’ Boom! We get along great. We’ve been close ever since.”

Indeed, Gaga — as well as A-listers including Elton John, Michael Bublé and Stevie Wonder — will honor the musician and painter during Tony Bennett Celebrates 90, a two-hour music and comedy special airing at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, Dec. 20.

And Gaga isn’t the only diva Bennett has plans to collaborate with — he and Queen Bey may have something in the works.

“Beyoncé. She’s thinking of something to do with me,” the singer adds with a laugh. “We met at a benefit, and she said, ‘I’ve got an idea that we should do something together.’ She didn’t tell me what it was yet, so we’ll see what happens!”

Queen Bey took home four awards: album of the year for "Lemonade;" best R&B soul/female artist; and song and video of the year, both for "Formation."

Beyoncé Selects "All Night" As Next Single

Klaudia//November 23, 2016
It looks like Beyonce is rolling out “All Night” as the fourth US single from Lemonade. The cover art surfaced online today (here) and the Diplo-produced ballad is being added to rhythmic radio on December 6 according to All Access.

Somewhat amusingly, “All Night” is already a top 40 hit. The song debuted at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 after the release of Lemonade and has charted in Canada, France, UK and Australia among other countries. It could soar even higher if it gets a little love from pop radio — something “Formation,” “Sorry” and “Hold Up” failed to achieve.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk Features a Fake Beyoncé

Klaudia//November 14, 2016

Perhaps you already know the premise of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, an Iraq War movie based on the novel of the same name, which dramatizes the titular veteran’s experience with PTSD during a Cowboys game. Perhaps you’ve read about the controversy over Ang Lee’s decision to shoot the film with a remarkably high 120 fps frame rate, which has the effect of making all the actors look like plastic dolls. This is not a post about either of those things. This is a post about how Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk features a fake Beyoncé — and also a fake Kelly and Michelle. But more importantly: Fake. Beyoncé.

Fake Beyoncé plays a small, but crucial role within Billy Lynn’s narrative: Destiny’s Child is headlining the halftime show where Billy (Joe Alwyn) and the rest of his squadron are being honored. In the film’s central set piece, the soldiers march with the trio to the stage, and then assemble behind them for a performance of “Soldier.” This triggers a bunch of PTSD flashbacks for Billy and the rest of the gang. As fake Bey, Kelly, and Michelle perform, we cut back to a battle the soldiers fought Iraq. It’s all an indictment of American mid-2000s excess — do you get it? (If you don’t get it, there’s an earlier scene where Billy has a sex fantasy while Kellie Pickler sings the national anthem.)

Beyoncé Supports "Love on Louisiana" Fundraiser

Klaudia//November 12, 2016
In August 2016, one of the worst U.S. natural disasters hit the storied city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and surrounding areas – historic flooding that left more than 60,000 homes destroyed and $8.7 billion in damages.

The flooding was also responsible for over a dozen deaths in the Baton Rouge area.

But while more than $55 million in federal aid was approved for reconstruction, families and businesses in the area are still struggling to recover from the rising waters.

On November 20, The Knowles family, along with Kelly Rowland and BeyGOOD, are looking to change that.

In a joint effort with ESSENCE, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Solange Knowles and Kelly Rowland – with support from Beyoncé and BeyGOOD, the singer's charitable organization founded in 2013 – will host Love On Louisiana: An Essence Hometown Heroes Tribute, a fundraising awards dinner to celebrate the resilience of Baton Rouge and to raise money for recovery efforts.

“We have continued to witness firsthand the strength of our long-term partners in Louisiana in the aftermath of natural disasters, and it is with great pride that we are partnering with Ms. Tina, Beyoncé, Solange, Kelly and BeyGOOD to harness the resources of our collective networks and join the community in rebuilding,” said Essence President Michelle Ebanks.

Beyoncé to campaign for Hillary Clinton?

Klaudia//November 4, 2016
Beyoncé will join Jay Z on Friday in Ohio at a get-out-the-vote concert for Hillary Clinton, a source who overheard the news told CBS News.

Clinton will be joined by the music superstars at a rally at Cleveland State University heading into the final weekend before Election Day. The Clinton campaign is making an aggressive push to urge Ohioans to vote early.

Jay Z’s appearance had already been announced.

But the addition of his wife Beyoncé, one of the biggest entertainers in the world, adds even more star power to the Cleveland event.

The concert is aimed at millennials and African-American voters in the Democratic stronghold of Cuyahoga County, where Clinton needs big margins on election night to defeat Donald Trump, who is leading the polls in Ohio.

The music megastars are among several acts -- including Katy Perry, The National and John Legend -- helping Clinton make a final appeal to young voters.

The Clinton campaign declined to comment on the appearance.

CMA Responds to Beyonce 'Deleted Performance' Outcry

Klaudia//November 4, 2016
The Country Music Association has responded to allegations that they deleted footage and mentions of Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks‘ 2016 CMA Awards performance.

An outcry from fans began Thursday afternoon (Nov. 3), after some began to notice and share on social media that social media mentions and CMA website video of the two acts’ performance of Beyonce’s “Daddy Lessons” at Wednesday night’s (Nov. 2) 50th anniversary CMA Awards ceremony had been deleted. TMZ alleged that the deletions were due to racist and rude comments being posted, but the CMA says that the footage was removed at Beyonce’s request.

“Beyonce’s team hadn’t approved that, so we pulled it down,” CMA CEO Sarah Trahern tells the New York Times of a now-deleted promotional clip that teased Beyonce’s performance, adding that the clip was removed before the performance itself. “Fans can get kind of passionate and read other things into it.”

Additionally, Trahern explains, Beyonce provided her own photographer for the evening and only approved one official live video of the song, which is available on ABC.com and has been shared on the CMA’s social media channels.

“CMA has not erased any mentions of Beyonce’s performance on the CMA Awards. In advance of the broadcast, CMA removed a five-second promotional clip from ABC.com and CMA’s Facebook page. The promo was unapproved, and CMA removed it prior to the broadcast,” the CMA says in a statement to People, echoing Trahern’s comments. “Beyonce’s performance with Dixie Chicks was a highlight of the evening, and we are continuing to share the amazing full-length performance clip via our official social channels.”
