Michelle Obama's daughters love Beyonce

Klaudia//May 2, 2012
The First Lady reenacted a typical exchange with her daughters, who apparently are unimpressed with living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. “It’s like, ‘Well, don’t you think it’d be interesting for your friends to be here?’ ‘I don’t care,’” she jokes. “I thought I would have kids over every weekend,” Obama admits. “So it’s surprising.” But while Sasha and Malia might be less than wide-eyed about living in a national landmark, Obama says they still view herself and President Barack Obama as role models. “I think in the end our kids look up to us, first and foremost, whether they admit it or not,” she tells PEOPLE. “We are our kids’ first and best role models … Everyone else is just a symbol of something. You don’t really get to know them well enough to idolize them or to have them impact your lives unless you’ve had a unique experience.” As far as celebrity icons, Obama says her daughters share her own admiration for Beyoncé. “My girls love Beyoncé. They’ve met her, but they don’t know her,” the First Lady says. “They think she’s cool, they love dancing. She seems like a good mom. They’re rooting for her, but they know me. So I think for them, that’s why I’ve got to have my stuff together.”

Rita Ora on Beyonce

Klaudia//April 23, 2012
“Working with Jay has always been an honor for me from three years ago to now. My view hasn’t changed. I’m so happy to be part of a great family and to be part of a voice that is hugely respected in the music industry and to be under his wing is just really lucky but also an amazing learning experience as an artist. I’m just around these amazingly talented people that have been doing this for a long time and to have them worry about me and stuff like that is great. I just hope I do everybody justice. “I get nervous every single time not because of who or what Jay-Z is but because it’s your music. I wouldn’t want anyone to think of the worst. I’m so protective over myself that he just calms me down more than anything. He’s like ‘Chill, let me hear it.’ And it ends up being great and everything’s fine but it’s just that process. It’s good stress though, I would never do anything else. If I didn’t get that feeling, I would feel like I was lost. “Beyoncé’s the family too, she’s a great lady and now she’s an amazing mom and she just tells me when things are going great and she’s just such a supportive wife and a friend. She’s just amazing to be around.”

Previously, the 'Superbass' rapper has teamed up with a long list of stars in the studio, including Madonna, Kanye West and Drake but, in an interview with US radio station Breakfast Club, said that she was only interested in working with the former Destiny's Child singer in the future. Asked which artists she'd like to work with in the future, she replied: "My fans want a Beyonce collab. That's the only one."

Adele Talks Beyonce Collaboration Hopes

Klaudia//April 3, 2012
Adele wants to sing with Beyonce. "I adore Beyonce, I've been listening to her since I was about 11," the "Someone Like You" singer told French radio station NRJ. "I think her work as an artist and a singer is enviable in terms of the length of her career and how she's grown and grown, but most of my inspirations are old music and sadly they have all died." According to an earlier report in the Sun, the divas were reportedly slated to sing together during Beyonce's performance at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival, but vocal issues led Adele to cancel. She underwent vocal cord surgery in November before making an impressive live comeback at February's Grammys.

Klaudia//April 1, 2012
It's really amazing to have fans, but it's ABSOLUTELY amazing when Beyonce is one of them. Femcee Brianna Perry's been hard at work and it's beginning to pay off, especially when King Bey posted her breakout hit "Marilyn Monroe" on her official website. Talk about a co-sign! The Miami rapper released her mixtape Face Off, and now she's readying her forthcoming mixtape Symphony No. 9. GlobalGrind caught up with Brianna to get her reaction to Beyonce's posting her "Marilyn Monroe" video on Bey's official site. Check out our exclusive interview below!

GlobalGrind: What was your reaction when you found out that your video was on Beyonce’s official website?

Brianna: Oh, man, I was just thrilled, being that — all of my years that I can remember, back to Destiny's Child days, I’ve always been a huge Beyonce fan! You know, I tweeted “She’s my idol.” So just to have her just recognize me as an artist was just amazing, incredible and so much motivation. I was so excited; I logged on into the site as soon as I found out she had posted it. And it just went crazy.

Victoria Beckham 'Screamed' When Beyonce Wore Her Dress

Klaudia//March 24, 2012
Victoria Beckham ''screamed'' when Beyonce wore one of her dresses. The 'Single Ladies' hitmaker wore a blue fitted design for an event organised by Michelle Obama earlier this week, and mega-fan Victoria admits she was blown away. She gushed: ''She was one hot mama, for sure. I mean, Beyonce is absolutely beautiful and has the most phenomenal body, she really does. She looks great, she really does. ''I was very excited when I saw it online. I screamed! I was like, 'Look, David, look!' I still get so, so excited. She's incredible and also an artist that I have so much respect for. I'm a huge, huge Beyonce fan. It was big for me.''

Katy Perry Denies Dissing Beyoncé

Klaudia//March 24, 2012
Girl fight? Not so fast. Proving that the only "Beautiful Liar" she has a problem with is the media, Katy Perry took to Twitter to lash out at the avalanche of feud reports sparked in the wake of the perceived diss she lobbed against Beyoncé and Shakira's years-old duet during a radio interview this week. While she undeniably told BBC Radio 1 that particular tune wasn't something she hoped to recreate when she eventually collaborated with Rihanna, the jump from that to straight-out dissing her pop star peers is a leap that's gotten Perry tweeting mad. Oh, and a warning: Apparently, when Katy gets mad, she gets potty-mouthed. "F--k all y'all (press) dat thinks I dissed anyone, puhlez, u havin a slow news day or what?!" she wrote last night. "Get a life, cuz it's not mine! #hoodratcominout. "If ya ears are filled with wax it's time to get a cleanse boo...Anywayz... (steps off of box)." As it happens, the alleged diss hit the headlines yesterday, when Katy's interview with the British radio giant went online. During the Q&A, Perry was asked if she and BFF Rihanna would ever make good on their promise to join musical forces, and her answer seemed to go out of its way to spare her colleagues' blushes. "I was telling her, you know that Eurthymics song with Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, 'Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves'?" Katy said. "That's like the kind of song that I'd want to do instead of, like, 'Hips Don't Lie,' which was still a great song by Shakira and Beyoncé. I mean, not 'Hips Don't Lie,' what's that duet? 'Beautiful Liar.'" With friendly nonfeuds like that, who needs real ones?

Klaudia//March 17, 2012
Blue's a chip off the old block! With the recent early burst of warm spring weather in NYC, Beyonce has been spotted out and about frequently with daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 2 months. The R&B singer (her album The MF Life drops March 20) adds that fatherhood has her pal Jay (real name: Shawn Carter) completely blissed out. "He's in a good mood all the time!" she says. And mama Beyonce, 30, is just as ecstatic. "She just is so happy. I've seen Bey like 3 times since she's had the baby," Fiona explains. "And she's just glowing and she's saying is the best, and she just loves it!"

Rihanna And Beyonce Inspired Alexandra Burke To Be Fierce

Klaudia//March 15, 2012
Alexandra Burke has revealed that she took inspiration from Rihanna and Beyonce when filming her new music video for her new single, 'Elephant'. Having been told to be “fiercer” by her promotion directors, the star, who won the X Factor in 2008, told MTV that she decided to channel the 'Rude Boy' singer and 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) hit maker. Speaking about the shoot, Alexandra, who is rumoured to be dating footballer Jermain Defoe, said: "I actually watched Rihanna to channel that. I watched her video for 'Wait Your Turn', which was something that inspired me. Plus, you just know that anything by Beyoncé is inspiring full stop. I did try and channel Rihanna and Beyoncé’s videos (in order) to be fierce and you know, they’ve got that swag so it’s always good to watch them for inspiration. "The song needed that as well because you’re telling a guy to get lost. It was a fun video and one that I’ve never really done before."

Tommy Hilfiger Talks First Meeting & Working With Beyonce

Klaudia//March 12, 2012
Signing Beyonce
T.H.: I met Beyoncé when she was 16. My brother Andy was helping me with musicians, working with marketing, and he had set up a fashion show with Macy’s. He said there is this group called Destiny’s Child. They’re teenage girls, they sing really well and we can get them to do the music for the show, so we booked them. When I met Beyoncé, I said to Andy, “She is going to be a star.” Her voice was incredible; she had a great look and just total confidence. A couple years later, she became “The Beyoncé,” and we used her as the face of our fragrance. She was wonderful to work with.

Rihanna Admits To Being In Competition With Beyonce

Klaudia//March 9, 2012
Rihanna has admitted that she is in competition with fellow singer Beyonce as she claims women are naturally jealous of each other's success. The 24-year-old Bajan star made an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in which she addressed talk of the endless competition between herself and other musicians such as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. "There will always be a competition," she told Jonathan. "That is why I feel like women are becoming so dominant in music right now because we are very competitive beings and we cannot stand to see another woman do better than us. That bothers us a lot." "As much as guys have egos, our egos are a little bigger, we are just a lot better at hiding them."

Florence Welch talks about Beyonce

Klaudia//January 22, 2012
"It was probably the best night of my life and I can't remember any of it." Florence Welch is desperately trying to recall the details of a tequila session with Beyoncé at the Yankee Stadium, well before Blue Ivy Carter appeared on the radar. Following the huge success of her debut Lungs, the Camberwell-born singer's star-status has become firmly cemented with the success of her stunning second album Ceremonials. Here, she talks to GQ.com about tattoos, tribute gigs and the dark arts of "Floetry"...

GQ.com: Who's better at holding their drink - you or Beyoncé?
Florence Welch: I think Beyoncé might be. I was so drunk that night. Apparently we had a really long conversation, but I can't remember any of it. We met her again at an event just before the VMAs, my sister was with me and Beyoncé said "Hi Grace! I've heard so much about you!" So I must have been talking about my sister, but God knows what I said.

Jessica Alba: 'Beyonce Should Sell First Photos Of Blue Ivy'

Klaudia//January 21, 2012
No doubt first-time parents Beyonce and Jay-Z are being bombarded with parenting advice from everyone in their lives. Even so, actress Jessica Alba has some advice of her own. Alba, who is mom to daughters Honor and Haven, told CNN she thinks Beyonce and Jay-Z should take control of the public's thirst for the first glimpse of baby Blue and sell the photos. The 30-year-old actress and husband Cash Warren made the decision to sell the first photos of Honor to OK! magazine for a reported $1.5 million. "For our family, we just wanted to control the experience. We put the money that the picture made into a bank account for Honor to do whatever she wants to do with," she explained. "It's her picture, it's her birth, and we didn't want it to be like a weird thing when we were walking out of the house with her for the first time." Alba believes that selling the first photos will stop the paparazzi from going to dangerous lengths to nab the first look at a celebrity's offspring. "If there's a price tag on your child -- which is so bizarre -- people will go to crazy lengths. We wanted to avoid the hysteria," she said, adding that they had a great experience with OK! magazine using a photographer they were friends with. Although Alba is a successful actress in her own right, she's doesn't attract the same amount of attention as Beyonce and Jay-Z. The notoriously secretive couple got married in April 2008 but wouldn't confirm they had actually wed until February 2010. Finally, at the Grammy awards Beyonce won Best Female Vocal Performance and thanked Jay-Z, saying, "I'd love to thank my family for all their support, including my husband. I love you." And it's not as if they need the money either -- even if it went to charity. Beyonce reportedly gave Jay-Z a $500,000 ring as a gift for being so supportive during her pregnancy. Alba's was quick to add that she's not trying to push anything on the new parents, telling CNN, "To each his own. The biggest thing is having a healthy baby .... I'm sure Beyonce will make the best decision for her family. "

She's going to look up and 's going to be six months. Next thing you know, she's going to be walking." The Oscar winner also suggests Beyonce treasure every moment with baby Blue. "Embrace it. Especially because of the lives we live, a lot of times other people have to care for themselves and you have to have that mommy time," said Hudson.
