OTR Fashion Lineup: Givenchy
Beyoncé and Jay Z enlisted the talents of designer favorite Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy for the finale of their On The Run Tour, and the outcome was monochrome patriotism.
According to Givenchy, Beyoncé’s finale look, a detachable black and white American flag skirt, featured a train that is 5 meters long (16.4 ft.) and actually isn’t a skirt at all, it is in fact a giant shirt tied around the waist. While the flag is 5 meters long, it only weighs 500 grams (1.10 lbs.) allowing for it to fly well on stage.
The outfit took over 500 hours to make and all of the stars on the flag are hand-embroider in white thread for a mega couture finish. As for the inspiration for the look, according to Givenchy, “the inspiration is the American Danger: Bonnie & Clyde with a modern twist.”
