Beyoncé's Latest Manicure Was Chosen By Blue Ivy Herself

Klaudia//December 25, 2023
When deciding what our next manicure will look like, we often turn to Beyoncé for inspiration: Should we go for a simple mauve, or perhaps a Renaissance-esque silver chrome? But have you ever wondered where the queen herself gets ideas?

On Wednesday, December 20, the Grammy winner delighted the world when she stepped out in New York with a minimalist, Santa Claus-inspired manicure. And according to Beyoncé's manicurist Miho Okawara, the Grammy winner's nail art was entirely inspired by her also-iconic daughter, Blue Ivy.

"When I was doing her daughter Blue's nail Bey saw what she , and she liked it!" the artist tells Marie Claire. "Bey copied one of Blue's on her nail."

And no, Beyoncé didn't influence her firstborn. "That design was all requested by Blue," added Okawara. "She is the one who chose."

In case you missed it, the finished product of Beyoncé's manicure was a festive, minimalist dream. While most of her fingers were outfitted in a regular red French tip, she chose to add a couple puffs of white polish to her thumbs, making them look like Santa Claus's signature hat.

The singer obviously loved the design a lot, dedicating not one, but two Instagram posts to the look. In a snapshot shared Friday, December 22, she flashed a peace sign while sitting on a plane, giving the red tips, which were created with Nail Labo shade TS01 "Britney Tokyo", their time to shine. While the hats weren't visible in the image, we know they're there. He sees you when you're sleeping, remember?

And while I haven't seen Blue's nails for myself either, I can only imagine they're perfect. The girl (and her mother) can do no wrong.

Dr. Christmas Reveals How He Decorated Beyoncé and JAY-Z's House

Klaudia//December 24, 2023
Dr. Christmas just shared how he styled Beyoncé and Jay-Z's home for the holiday season.

Dr. Christmas, whose real name is Bob Pranga, shared with PEOPLE what it's been like to help celebrities deck the halls for the past 40 years. The 61-year-old designer shared how “fascinating” it was to decorate the “Crazy in Love” collaborators’ home with their desired “Christmas in Africa” theme.

“I got a call from her assistant that they decided they wanted to spend Christmas in Malibu... three days before Christmas," Pranga shared with PEOPLE.

"It was a fascinating thing to me because I went out there and it was like a movie set," said Pranga. "All these people were hired to make this house perfect before they got there for Christmas Eve."

He shared how he and his team were on a tight time constraint with just the simple direction of making their home a “Christmas in Africa" theme with "beautiful colors and prints.” He revealed that the team had “less than 24 hours to prepare her home.”

“Beyoncé is just a lovely lady. She's very chill,” explained Pranga. “People are always looking for those wonderful or horrible stories of celebrities.”

“But I get to see these people as people at home,” he simply concluded.

Beyoncé Surprises Fans at Brazil 'Renaissance' Film Premiere

Klaudia//December 24, 2023
The Renaissance is far from over. On Thursday (Dec. 21), Beyoncé made a grand return to Brazil to celebrate the premiere of her Renaissance documentary concert film in a slew of new international territories, marking her first visit to the country in a decade.

Queen Bey had days earlier shared on Instagram the latest KNTY 4 News update: Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé would premiere in 15 new countries, including Brazil, on Dec. 21. “Y’all didn’t have to break my website,” she said in a voiceover. “But I told y’all, the renaissance is not over.”

To celebrate the film’s release around the world, Parkwood Entertainment and TV Globo teamed up to co-sponsor an event in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Fan-captured footage shows what appears to be a replica of the Renaissance World Tour stage and exclusive Club Renaissance merchandise.

Beyoncé teased her arrival in Brazil with a cheeky meme of the Renaissance disco horse — nicknamed Reneigh by fans — peeking out of a private jet. Sure enough, the music icon surprised fans with her first public appearance in Brazil in 10 years. She last visited the country during her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour back in 2013.

Beyoncé wore a black top with a matching head wrap and sunglasses while daughter Blue Ivy smiled in a white sweater.

The rapper’s mother, Gloria Carter, also shined on the second floor of the pink double-decker bus, wearing an all-yellow outfit and a matching yellow fascinator.

The couple enjoyed the festive sightseeing alongside their children and other family members, making sure to hit holiday hot spots such as Rockefeller Center’s iconic Christmas tree and Saks Fifth Avenue’s over-the-top window decorations.

The family of five even made their way around Times Square and Bryant Park during their daytime tour.

BeyHive Crashes Beyoncé Website Over… 'Renaissance' Film International Release Dates

The Beyoncé Album That Changed Everything

Klaudia//December 16, 2023
10 years ago this week, Beyoncé released what many fans consider her defining work: Her fifth studio album, simply titled Beyoncé. From a production standpoint, the album was a feat, but what makes it significant isn’t only the music—it’s the way it shifted her career. Beyoncé marks the moment that Beyoncé Knowles-Carter stopped playing by the rules of the industry, and instead put the industry under her own will.

The album's origin story is certified pop culture lore at this point. The clock struck twelve on Friday, December 13th, 2013 and without any promotion, easter eggs, or clues to fans—let alone music-world professionals—Beyoncé dropped her fifth studio album. The tactic was unheard of at the time; albums normally dropped earlier in the week to better account for Billboard charting and overall sales counts, and releasing an album with little to no promotion was considered a sure pathway to a flop.

Beyoncé could only be purchased as a whole (on iTunes or physically via CD in stores) because the star wanted people to experience the entire project at once. "People don't make albums anymore,” she said in her 2013 HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream. "They just try to sell a bunch of little quick singles. And they burn out, and they put out a new one, and they burn out, and they put out a new one."

This was also highly controversial, but the album proved that fan demand can drive the success of a project, even without corporate marketing teams or soulless press runs. Beyoncé sold 828,773 units in its first three days, making it the fastest-selling album ever on iTunes at the time of its release. It went on to win three Grammy awards the following year.

Beyoncé Drops 'Grown Woman' on Streaming to Celebrate 10 Years of Her Self-Titled Album

Klaudia//December 13, 2023
It’s a big day for Beyoncé and the Beyhive. On Wednesday (Dec. 13), Queen Bey commemorated 10 years of her self-titled surprise visual album, and she’s treating fans to some new music — kind of — to celebrate.

When Beyoncé arrived on iTunes with no pre-release announcement or promotion in the wee hours of Dec. 13, 2013, the 14-track record came complete with 17 music videos. While certain songs on the album — namely “Partition” and “Haunted” — got two music videos to honor their long-winding structures, there was a bonus music video that did not accompany an audio track.

For a decade, Beyoncé fans have only been able to stream “Grown Woman” as a music video. On YouTube — where the clip was uploaded to honor the album’s one-year anniversary and the release of its platinum edition — the Jake Nava-helmed video has amassed over 145 million views. Before that, however, Beyoncé first teased a lengthy snippet of “Grown Woman” in a career-reflecting Pepsi ad that debuted just a few months after she rocked the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage in 2013.

Now, fans can enjoy the track as they would any other Beyoncé song. The Afrobeats-tinged single finally arrived on streaming platforms on Dec. 13, marking the second gift from Queen Bey following an Instagram video montage acknowledging the album’s anniversary.
