Beyonce performed during the 'On the Run II' Tour with Jay-Z at Hampden Park on June 9, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland. The singer wore one new outfit by Peter Dundas. After the show, she thanked her fans on Instagram: "Thank you Glasgow for being an amazing audience!"

Beyonce's Hair Colorist Shares Inspiration Behind Her New Blonde Hue

June 11, 2018

She’s known as Queen Bey for a reason! Beyoncé and Jay-Z kicked off their On the Run II tour in Cardiff, Wales, on Wednesday, June 6, and while the show is epic for so many reasons (think: insane musical talent, jamming songs, gorgeous costumes), we couldn’t help but be mesmerized by Beyoncé’s #flawless cascade of curls. So you can imagine our delight from Bey’s longtime hair colorist Rita Hazan (the same woman who crafted the perfect shade of blonde for those history-making 2018 Coachella performances in April) agreed to spill all the details on the summery strands.

“I got a call that Beyoncé wanted her hair color to be super dramatic for this show which is why I jumped on the soonest flight to Paris to meet with her last weekend,” Rita tells Us. When it came to deciding on the perfect shade, the colorist, who first started working with Bey about seven years ago at the recommendation of the diva’s hairstylist Kim Kimble, explained that it was all about minding the details (i.e. lighting, wardrobe, makeup, etc.).

“She was requesting color that was impactful and that would translate well on stage with the bright lights and her fierce wardrobe,” Hazan says. “I ended up making the ends of her hair extremely golden blonde – not ashy – and her roots a few shades darker. It took a few hours to create but overall she is embracing a more natural look and texture.”

While the half-up style and tight ringlets are similar to the waist-grazing urban glam look she sported at Coachella, the On The Run II hue is noticeably warmer than the music festival’s ashier blonde. The new shade is the perfect complement to her sculpted golden goddess makeup look, complete with a neutral lip, shimmering eye and graphic winged liner.

Beyoncé's Wings Of Desire Unveiled At The V&A

May 11, 2018

"I do love butterflies", Grammy award-winning superstar Beyoncé tells me, "but the Papillon was something special". Today her dazzling Papillon will be unveiled as a permanent exhibit at the V&A Museum, donated it as a gift from her private collection, to the William & Judith Bollinger Gallery. The ring’s glittery green mosaic-style wings, created by London jeweller Glenn Spiro using 326 tsavorites, and not surprisingly, 342 brilliant-cut diamonds, "Yes, diamond’s are always a girl’s best friend," says Beyoncé, who spends time looking for distinctive jewels because, "they remind me of a special moment".

"She and Jay-Z buy beautiful things", explains Spiro, "Not just jewellery but also art; they are collectors." The three friends were hanging out together in Los Angeles, in a suite at the Peninsular Hotel, when the subject of the V&A seeking exciting examples of contemporary jewellery cropped up. "She immediately said she’d like to donate the jewel," he says.

When he was originally imagining the design in his West End atelier (once the showroom of couturier Norman Hartnell) he fashioned the stones flat. It wasn’t until he developed a titanium spring, wrapped like a diamond-set antennae over the knuckle, that the butterfly’s wings took flight and were able to flutter in time with Beyoncé’s finger.

"This titanium setting couldn’t have been done until recently and it’s so incredibly delicate," says Richard Edgcumbe, Senior Curator of the V&A Museum, as he turns the butterfly over in his gloved hands. "Of course it's close in spirit to the quivering en tremblant jewels of the 19th-Century which also needed human agency to make the diamonds quiver and come to life. Beyoncé is a role model in so many ways that having her personal jewel will be transforming to the gallery," Edgcumbe adjusts his tie, "to be honest we’re all quite star struck at the thought of it".

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival - Weekend 2

April 22, 2018

Beyoncé returned to Coachella last night for the second weekend—and her second performance as headliner. The performance wasn't streamed this time, and despite an initial announcement, SiriusXM radio's live stream didn't include her set.

Visually the show was refreshed, with Beyoncé and her 100 dancers and band members washed in shades of magenta and virtually every ensemble the singer wore was swapped out for a new look.

The set-list, however, remained untouched and she was again joined by husband Jay-Z, former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams as well as her sister Solange Knowles. There was an extra surprise, as the singer was also joined by J. Balvin for a quick run of "Mi Gente."

Beyoncé's Coachella merchandise collection was expanded with two new items, which are now available on the Coachella Pop-Up Store website.

Olivier Rousteing on Dressing Beyoncé in Balmain for Coachella 2018

April 15, 2018

It all started when stylist Marni Senofonte approached Olivier Rousteing after his Fall 2018 runway show for Balmain and explained to him that she was trying to find the right designer to create custom looks for Beyoncé’s upcoming Coachella performances. “Marni told me that the shows were all about survivors and that B was looking for something in a military style,” Rousteing says. “Our silhouettes and our sort of Mad Max, futuristic take on military looks for Fall were a perfect fit.” But, of course, Queen Bey was not about to wear something that was going to be mass-produced, so Rousting went to work with Senofonte and the rest of Beyoncé’s team to create two custom Balmain stage wardrobes, one for each of her performances tonight and next Saturday night. Rousteing also dressed the 200-some dancers on stage, as well as Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who reunited with Beyoncé for a Destiny’s Child throwback moment. Rousteing only had a few weeks to pull it all together, spending sleepless nights and long days creating the Egyptian-inspired gold-and-black cape with intricate embellishments; as well as a hologram-fabric black jacket and bodysuit; a collegiate-style embellished yellow hoodie with “BAE” written on the front; a camouflage and mesh minidress; and a top decorated with a 2018 Beyoncé crest that shows a bee, a raised fist, a panther, and an Egyptian goddess. “By the end it felt like Marni and I were in a relationship,” the designer said with a laugh. “We went to bed texting and emailing one another and woke up doing the same.”

Beyonce's Style Explored in New Book

August 31, 2016

Katie Baron’s Fashion + Music delves behind the scenes to understand the beginnings and making of Beyonce’s iconic style.

Written by former Dazed and Vogue contributor and trend forecaster, Katie Baron, the book gives a unique insight into how fashion and music, working as twin agents, have reflected but also influenced popular culture. It features exclusive interviews with the creatives behind some of the most iconic and era-defining looks of music’s greatest heroes, including Beyonce. It explores the power of fashion as a make-or-break tool within the music industry’s creative process and gives context to the sound.

There are two chapters featuring Beyonce and her work with B Akerlund and Jenke-Ahmed Tailly. The Akerlund chapter looks at their partnership for the campaign announcing the 2013 Mrs Carter World Tour, and the 2013 "Beyonce" visual album in particular the styling for "Superpower".

The Tailly chapter is solely focused on the partnership between Beyonce and her former creative director and that unique time period in Beyonce's career.

Check out exclusive pictures from the book in the gallery and remember to credit BeyonceOnline.org when sharing! The book is available now through Laurence King Publishing.

Beyoncé to Wear Francesco Scognamiglio in Milan

July 15, 2016

Francesco Scognamiglio has designed one of the outfits that Beyoncé will wear on Monday night in Milan on the stage of her “Formation” world tour.

The Neapolitan designer, who debuted his first haute couture collection in Paris earlier this month, realized a hooded bomber jacket entirely covered with Swarovski, as well as a pair of pants combining crystals with precious floral-inspired decorations.

“I wanted to interpret the energy, strength, femininity and talent of a real style icon through my personal point of view with the goal of creating an unforgettable look,” Scognamiglio said.

Since the early stages of his career, the designer has often worked with international celebrities, in particular Madonna, who wore a Scognamiglio outfit in her “Give It 2 Me” video, directed by Tom Munro in 2008.

In honor of World Humanitarian day, we’ve brought back the opportunity to #BeyGOOD and support the children of Haiti!

In May 2015, on a humanitarian trip to the island of Haiti, Beyoncé visited local programs in a personal capacity to continue her support of previously funded programs and to learn more about humanitarian activities.

While on location, Beyoncé visited the Saint Damien Hospital in Tabarre. Funded completely through private contributions to NPH worldwide, St. Damien provides high quality medical treatment for disadvantaged and sick children in Haiti and has associated public health and community programs that reach more than 90,000 children and adults annually. To say that everything Beyoncé touches turns to gold would certainly be to state the obvious, but today’s exciting news is quite a literal interpretation of this idea. We’ll get right to the point: We’ve been chosen by Beyoncé (one of our absolute favorite CR stars!) to exclusively announce her new collaboration with Flash Tattoos, the jewelry-inspired temporary tattoo company solely responsible for launching the metallic tattoo craze. In this powerful photo series corresponding with today’s announcement, Beyoncé herself models the ‘Beyonce’ pack of gold and black tattooable jewelry that she creatively directed and co-designed with the famed brand.

Beyoncé’s tattoo-laden, yet rawly captured photoshoot took place in a private studio after she styled herself in the product as she saw fit; As you scroll through, note all of the intricate details and let them inspire you to craft your own version of ink-like adornment (or proceed to copy Beyoncé directly, as she’s clearly done an expert job).

The collaboration will offer options that range from honeycomb cuffs and Beyhive-centric designs to Bey’s most powerful lyrics in the form of a sexy, tattoo script, letting you metaphorically belt out Bey’s lyrics (“I woke up like this,” or “Pretty Hurts") in a distinctly new way. The collaborative curation will be made available in 5 sheets of tattoos—57 individual pieces altogether—to be worn separately or, as Beyoncé has often done in the past, layered atop one another to create an entirely new look.

Alas, we must not fail to mention that today's stripped down visuals of Beyoncé in her designers are available to purchase right now at flashtat.com. We suggest you arrive before your fellow Beyhive members beat you to it.

On May 16, 2015, Beyoncé embarked on a humanitarian trip to the island of Haiti to visit local programs in a personal capacity to continue her support of previously funded programs and learn more about humanitarian activities.

However, due to a recent reduction in funding commitment, the hospital has lost the equivalent of two months of funding resulting in significant cutbacks both in staff (450 Haitians are employed here) and in the number of children that can be treated. As an immediate result there are now empty wards, reduced oncology intake, the reduction in the residents program that trains Haitian Doctors, and hundreds of children who are turned away from medical care they desperately need.

Your purchase of a BeyGOOD Haiti t-shirt can help solve an urgent funding crisis with all proceeds from sales of this shirt directly aiding St. Damien in re-opening an abandoned wing and continuing to aid the people of Haiti.

Unless you were living under a rock yesterday, you probably already know that the new music video for Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé's collaboration "Feeling Myself" came out. And for those of you who saw it, you know it was pure visual fun—awesome colors, crazy clothing combos, and cheeseburgers galore. (A formula for success if ever there was one.)

Marie Claire caught up with the woman behind the fashion—stylist Marni Senofonte, whose worked with everyone from Kim Kardashian to Mary J. Blige—to get the insider deets on EVERYTHING that went down.

This video is serious eye candy. Everything is just so fun and powerful and colorful. What was the idea or concept for the shoot?

"The truth of the matter is, it was really last minute. And it was Beyoncé's idea to go to Coachella and to shoot at Coachella. It was so spur of the moment! But that's B, that's her. She's so spontaneous and it's just part of her craft—if she likes it or she wants it she goes for it. Honestly, there was no real 'treatment' that usually happens. The idea was, you know, 'let's go to Coachella.' It was supposed to feel the way that I hope it does—really good friends, just going and having a good time, and making fun memories. And I scrambled together in two days what we would need and we went over everything, but it was really this idea of, you know, everyone at Coachella looks like a hippie, but I was like, what if the other kind of kids to go Coachella? This is all the clothes that we were wearing. It's pretty much the urban version of Coachella." Read more...
'Course sometimes s--t goes down when there's a billion dollars in the elevator! When Beyonce hit the red carpet at the 2015 Met Gala hours after most of the other stars posed for the cameras, she flawlessly worked her racy Givenchy gown and her high ponytail.

But what most don't know is that the "Flawless" singer's effortless look was finalized in the elevator. No, not that elevator, but in the elevator of her apartment building on the way to the swanky event's carpet.

Beyonce's longtime hairstylist Neal Farinah (of the Neal Farinah Salon in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood on Fulton Street) was on hand for the quick fix, and exclusively told Us Weekly’s Gwen Flamberg about the last-minute switch up.

"For the Met Ball we did that high ponytail but that wasn't supposed to be the style," Farinah revealed. "We did that in the elevator as she was on the way out."

Originally Bey's long locks were entirely wrapped up in "an asian-inspired chignon," but Farinah said the Grammy winner felt the look might be too "costumey," and made a spur-of-the-moment decision.

"Then we were in the elevator on the way down, and she looks at me and says 'Neal, I want to change my hair, will you change my hair?' And I said, 'Honey, there could be cameras in the elevator,'" Farinah quipped, referencing last year's infamous "Elevatorgate" in which her sister Solange Knowles got into a physical altercation with her husband Jay Z. "She says, 'You have 5 minutes.' And I said, 'Girl, what do you want me to do with the hair?' And she wanted a high ponytail. With Beyonce, she looks at herself and she says, 'This isn't right, let's change it.'" Read more...
A sketch of Beyonce's dress for this year's Met Gala was posted on Beyonce.com along with a short description:

Beyoncé’s 2015 Met Gala evening dress was made by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. The skin-colored illusion tulle featured all over embroidery with multicolor crystals and stones, and was worn with 7″ suede leather skin-colored platform sandals.

According to Tisci’s team, the Met Gala dress took 2,000 hours to make. All crystals were sown on individually by hand on illusion tulle dyed specifically in Beyoncé’s skin complexion.

His heels top every woman’s lust-list, and his sneakers have become a must-have staple amongst every self-respecting hip hop artist. Giuseppe Zanotti, the San Mauro Pascoli-born Italian creative, whose sexy heels and gold plated sneaks, find their way to the red carpet, just as easily as they find their way to the street. I meet with Zanotti in the men’s section of his designer shoe universe: the Zanotti showroom in Milan, located on the Italian fashion capital’s premier high-end shopping street Via Monte Napoleone.

The designer reveals that Beyoncé has her first shoe in collaboration with Zanotti coming out, scheduled for release within one or two weeks. “I’m doing a shoe with Beyoncé right now,” Giuseppe tells me while showing me an image of a sketch, from his phone. I’m not able to see what the final product will turn out like exactly, but going by the sketch, Beyoncé has a thing for ultra thick platform stilettos. “Beyoncé has very clear ideas – she knows exactly what she wants. The thing which she then also has over other celebrities, is that she has an amazing voice. She’s incredibly talented and she’s an amazing dancer – she’s complete. Few are like Beyoncé,” the designer says about the multiple Grammy award-winning artist he has known ever since her Destiny’s Child days. “I’m working on finalizing the shoe with her stylist right now. And Beyoncé will then say what she likes and what she doesn’t like. It will be one shoe only,” Zanotti concludes with regards to the shoe that will certainly get the BeyHive craving.
