Beyonce Wins at the 2017 BET Awards

Klaudia//June 26, 2017
Beyoncé was the big winner Sunday at the 2017 BET Awards, taking a total of five trophies at the music-rich event in Los Angeles. She won for Female R&B/Pop Artist, Album Of The Year for Lemonade, and Viewers Choice, Video Director Of The Year and Video Of The Year for “Sorry,” the latter honor shared with Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic.”

The singer may have skipped the BET Awards, but she still delivered a message to the crowd, as she asked her protégés Chloe x Halle to read her speech after winning the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award for "Sorry."

"Thank you BET for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade. This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve," the speech began. "Thank you to my mother Tina Knowles Lawson for being my biggest, biggest teacher and consistent influence. Thank you to my entire family for so much love."

Queen Bey also gave a shout-out to her supportive fans. "My BeyHive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you," Chloe x Halle said, reading the note. "To everyone at the show tonight, you all look so beautiful and at home, thank you and have a wonderful, wonderful night. From, Beyonce."

Beyonce’s Twins Were Reportedly Born Premature

Klaudia//June 21, 2017
It's been more than a week since the Knowles-Carter twins arrived, but according to several sources, Beyoncé and the twins are still in a Los Angeles, California hospital. According to TMZ, Beyoncé's twins were reported born prematurely and were kept "under the lights." The "lights," the unnamed source told TMZ, refer to phototherapy to treat newborn jaundice, a common condition in premature babies. The condition also affects full term babies, and is rarely serious.

When preemies develop jaundice, it's due to elevated bilirubin levels in their blood. As a result, jaundiced babies' skin and the whites of their eyes appear yellow or orange. These visible signs of jaundice take anywhere from three to five days after birth to appear and are temporary, with skin color returning to normal once the bilirubin levels stabilize. To accelerate this process, babies are put under bright blue lights to help break down the bilirubin. They even get tiny little shaded goggles to wear to protect their eyes, not unlike the kind you'd see at a tanning salon.

Jaundice could certainly account for the "minor issue" with Beyoncé's twins that have kept them in the hospital since their birth on June 12. While the couple themselves have yet to confirm the twins' birth, Beyoncé's dad, Matthew Knowles, confirmed the twins' arrival via Instagram on Sunday.

Beyonce and Jay Z Welcome Twins

Klaudia//June 18, 2017
Beyoncé Knowles and Shawn “Jay Z” Carter have welcomed twins in one of the most highly anticipated celebrity births, according to multiple reports Sunday.

One of those reports was granddad himself, Matthew Knowles, who blasted the news on Twitter with a Father's Day post reading “They’re here!” and “Happy Birthday to the twins!"

And sources told E! News that Beyoncé had given birth to twins in Los Angeles. On Thursday, Jay Z and Blue Ivy were together spotted at a Los Angeles area hospital. While the twins' genders have yet to be revealed, on Friday, an unidentified woman carrying a bouquet of pink, purple and blue flowers with two giant baby foot-shaped pink and blue balloons that read, "Baby Girl" and "Baby Boy, was photographed dropping off the gift at the same Los Angeles hospital that Bey's husband and 5-year-old daughter were seen at the day prior. Upon inspection, the card attached to the flowers had a visible "B+J" written on the floral envelope.

TMZ also reported that the twins had arrived, but an issue surfaced that has kept them in the hospital for nearly a week. Sources connected with the family told TMZ the twins were born Monday in a Los Angeles hospital. Reportedly, a "minor issue" surfaced, and as a result doctors do not feel comfortable releasing them. One source told TMZ Beyonce also remains at the hospital, but as far as they know she's okay. The babies are expected to be okay as well. It's unclear when everyone will be released.

The platinum couple, who recently celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary has yet to officially comment.

Beyoncé to release Shimmering Heat

Klaudia//June 16, 2017
Beyoncé's perfume line based on her premier fragrance Heat (launched in 2010) showcases various interpretations of different fantasy orchid accords in the form of flankers. The original is based on the red vanilla orchid, Heat Rush contains the yellow tiger orchid, Heat The Mrs. Carter Show from 2013 brings the Brassia Edvah Loo orchid, Heat Kissed from 2015 features the Red Fury orchid, Heat Seduction was composed to reflect the ginger orchid, etc. The new Shimmering Heat comes out before the end of the 2017 summer and will be portraying the Blue Mystique orchid.

Shimmering Heat is inspired by the first moments on stage, when the light shines on Beyoncé while she is dressed in a sequined outfit. The composition aims to evoke this "magical" and "enchanting" atmosphere. Fresh, green, floral and chypre notes promise a difference from the previous sweet, fruity and gourmet editions of this line. The Blue Mystique orchid at the perfume’s core is surrounded with sharp pink pepper and fresh notes, and placed on a woody base of patchouli.

Top notes: pink pepper, fresh green notes, freesia
Heart: mystical blue orchid, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley
Base: patchouli, oak moss, musk, vanilla

The light blue bottle and box are in the standard form of the collection and this edition comes in the sizes of 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Diddy edges out Beyoncé as highest-paid entertainer

Klaudia//June 13, 2017
It's still all about the Benjamins for entertainer Sean Combs, who has been named the highest-paid entertainer of 2017 by Forbes magazine.

Diddy, the veteran multi-hyphenate, earned a cool $130 million pretax in the financial magazine's 12-month scoring period and edged out singer Beyoncé for the top spot in the annual rankings.

The 47-year-old mogul's earnings hail from the sale of his Sean John clothing label, which reportedly fetched an estimated $70 million. Additionally, the Ciroc-peddling rapper-producer also banked hefty sums from his vodka partnership and the star-studded Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, which sold out arenas across the country.

Meanwhile, Bey reportedly earned an estimated $105 million with the help of her Formation World Tour and the release of her "Lemonade" visual album.

"Harry Potter" scribe J.K. Rowling returned to the rankings in the No. 3 spot with $95 million, Toronto-bred rapper Drake earned $94 million and Real Madrid soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo earned $93 million, the magazine reported.

To calculate the Celebrity 100, Forbes evaluates front-of-the-camera talent and reported earnings from June 2016 to June 2017, basing the figures on reports from Nielsen, NPD Bookscan, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick, D'Marie and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders and sometimes the stars themselves. Fees for agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted from the totals.

Coachella Announces 2018 Festival Dates

Klaudia//June 1, 2017
Beyoncé officially has her first tour dates for 2018 set: Coachella just announced its festival dates for next year. The two-weekend music and arts festival will take place from Friday, April 13, through Sunday, April 15, and Friday April 20 through Sunday, April 22, respectively.

The "Formation" singer was originally a 2017 Coachella headliner, but after announcing that she's pregnant with twins in February, she had to cancel her appearance (despite delivering a show-stopping performance at the Grammys). To make up for her unexpected cancellation, Beyoncé signed on as a headliner for 2018.

Because of Beyoncé's move, fans who plan to attend next year's fest already know one headliner they'll get to see, which isn't typically the case with Coachella. Even with lineups being announced long after tickets go on sale, passes sell out at a rapid pace -- so with someone like Queen B confirmed for the bill, better act fast if you want to be there.

Advance tickets for Coachella 2018 will be available starting June 2 at 11 a.m. PT. For more information on tickets, click here.

Beyonce Celebrates Twins at Carter Push Party

Klaudia//May 21, 2017
The final stretch! Beyoncé, who is expecting twins with husband Jay Z, celebrated at a star-studded baby shower in Beverly Hills on Saturday, May 20.

The "Formation" singer, 35, celebrated her upcoming bundles of joy at a so-called "Carter Push Party," which was attended by Jay Z, 47; their daughter, Blue Ivy, 5; pregnant tennis star Serena Williams; TV personality La La Anthony; and Beyoncé's former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, among others.

Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles Lawson, documented the fun-filled afternoon on her Instagram account, sharing a video of several guests decked out in colorful, patterned dresses. "Happy Carter Push Party," the group of women yelled for the camera, referring to Beyoncé's married name of Carter.

The 22-time Grammy winner put her growing baby bump on fully display at the party, wearing a barely there top and a flowing skirt. The outdoor event was held under a huge tent and featured a seating area with orange floor pillows and patterned rugs.

Beyoncé & Jay Z Are Officially A Billion-Dollar Couple

Klaudia//May 18, 2017
Beyoncé and husband Jay Z are set to welcome twins this summer, joining their daughter Blue Ivy, 5. Buying new baby equipment shouldn't be much of a problem: Beyoncé and Jay Z are now officially a billion-dollar couple.

Per FORBES' list of America's Wealthiest Self-Made Women--released today--Beyoncé, 35, has amassed a personal fortune of $350 million. The total for Jay Z, 47, has soared to $810 million per last week's ranking of hip-hop's richest acts (he trails No. 1 Diddy by just $10 million). That brings the couple to a combined net worth of $1.16 billion and counting.

So how, exactly, did they pull it off? Ask Beyoncé, and the answer is straightforward: "I'm never satisfied," she once told FORBES. "I’ve never met anyone that works harder than me in my industry.”

Beyoncé and husband Jay Z also waded into the national debate during the 2016 presidential election, performing at a Hillary Clinton event in Ohio last November and offering vocal support. Taking on a more political tone didn't tamp down the Knowles-Carters' financial prospects; on the contrary, they seem to be only increasing in stature--both in terms of influence and wealth.

Diane Warren Reveals Story Behind "I Was Here"

Klaudia//May 17, 2017
Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren will accept ASCAP’s Founders Award, handed out to pioneering songwriters for their exceptional contributions to music, at the rights organization’s annual Pop Music Awards on May 18 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. She took a trip back in time to talk to Billboard about some of the songs that have meant the most to her over her prolific career.

“I Was Here,” Beyonce (2011): It’s really become this graduation anthem, so it’s kind of cool for someone who got kicked out of two schools and barely graduated to have a graduation theme. I played it on the phone for Jay Z and he loved it. At the same time, I sent it to Simon Cowell, thinking it could be for Leona Lewis or Susan Boyle. Jay Z said, "I’m going to have Beyonce call you." It was on a Monday. The album was due to be turned in that Friday. She said, "I’m stopping my whole album and I’m coming to record the vocal." I was in the studio with her, and in the morning I got a rejection letter from someone at Simon’s office , "This song just doesn’t go all the way for us." It was my favorite email to write back because I was like, "That’s ok. I’m in the studio with the biggest artist on the planet and it kind of went all the way for her. All good."
