Beyoncé tops 2017 BET Awards nominations

Klaudia//May 16, 2017
Beyoncé is the leading nominee for this year’s BET Awards, the network announced Monday morning.

The pop star, who is the most nominated and winning artist in the show’s 17-year-history, scored seven nods for her “Lemonade” — including album of the year.

The ceremony celebrates black excellence in music, film, TV, sports and philanthropy and will air live June 25 from the Microsoft Theater at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Last year, Beyoncé’s polarizing “Formation” video took one of the night’s biggest honors, video of the year; this year, her bawdy anthem “Sorry” is up against hits from Big Sean, Migos, Bruno Mars and her sister, Solange.

She’s also nominated for collaboration (with two different songs), female R&B/pop artist and video director.

Hosted by Daveed Diggs, 2016 Tony award-winning actor from the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, The One Show awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

There were 323 Pencils awarded – 92 Gold, 102 Silver and 129 Bronze – to winners from 30 countries. Overall, there were 21,844 entries from 73 countries. Seven Best of Discipline winners were announced, as well as special award winners: Cultural Driver Award and the Green Pencil.

The Cultural Driver Award, which celebrates influential ideas and executions that have had a noticeable impact on pop culture, awarded three Pencils:

Gold Pencil: "Formation" for Beyoncé by PRETTYBIRD/Culver City.

Silver Pencil: "Boost Your Voice" for Boost Mobile by 180LA/Santa Monica.

Bronze Pencil: "Buy Back the Block" for Checkers & Rally's by Fitzgerald & Co/Atlanta + Uproxx Studios/Los Angeles.

"Provocative and powerful, 'Formation' – the linchpin of Beyoncé's genre-bending Lemonade album – is more than a song or a music video. It's a manifesto."

Beyoncé throws support behind Amandla Stenberg

Klaudia//May 9, 2017
Beyoncé attended a VIP screening of “Everything, Everything” on Saturday in Hollywood to support Amandla Stenberg — who stars in the film and also appeared in the singer’s “Lemonade” clip.

Beyoncé — who’s pregnant with twins — was also supporting mom Tina Knowles’ mentorship nonprofit Tina’s Angels, since 32 girls from the program were in attendance. Clad in a pink flowy dress, kimono and platform heels, Beyoncé snuck in the theater to a roar from the packed house.

On the red carpet at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, "Everything, Everything" stars Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson talked with Access Hollywood's Alex Hudgens about meeting Beyoncé at the Los Angeles screening of the film.

Beyonce Rep Slams MediaTakeOut

Klaudia//May 5, 2017
Beyonce’s rep, Yvette Noel-Schure, is slamming MediaTakeOut for publishing a false story speculating the pregnant superstar received lip injections. In a statement exclusively provided to Gossip Cop, the publicist understandably calls out the webloid for its insensitive fake news.

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, MediaTakeOut accused Beyonce of getting lip injections while pregnant with twins. The story was based only on a photo the singer posted on Instagram, as the site had no other evidence to back up its assertion. Gossip Cop, however, pointed out that the expectant performer’s lips were likely swollen due to side effects from her pregnancy. We also spoke with sources who blasted MTO for its “foolishness.”

Now Beyonce’s spokesperson has a message for the site, and she rightfully doesn’t hold back. In the statement furnished to Gossip Cop and addressed to “MTO staffers,” Noel-Schure says, “What do you know about the effects of pregnancy on a woman’s entire body? Please tell me. Did you know that in addition to weight gain there is often a dramatic change in the blood flow in the system and increased fluid causing swelling? Do you know that often women’s gums get swollen? Do you know that it sometimes affects our speech, our ability to chew intently and a host of other things?”

She continues, “But the sacrifice to our faces, our feet and our entire bodies is something we welcome because we bring beautiful humans into the world who will one day combat your hate and negativity. I stood silent during Beyonce’s first pregnancy when you thought it was okay to bully her like the cowards you are, when you accused her of never being pregnant, but I simply cannot this time.”

“You are the saddest individuals and picking on a pregnant lady is tantamount to possessing the coldest, despicable heart,” Noel-Schure tells MediaFakeOut. “You need to find something else to do with your time and maybe stop by a store that has happiness on sale because you need to buy some.” Gossip Cop couldn’t put it any better, so we won’t even try.

Wearable Art Gala

Klaudia//April 30, 2017
Last night Beyonce attended the Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles. The singer auctioned off an autographed gold-plated microphone from the Formation World Tour. She congratulated her mother on creating the event on Instagram:

"I am super proud of my beautiful mother for creating such an awesome event. Close to $1 million was raised for The WACO Theater Center to benefit young people through their mentorship programs and the arts. Mom, you inspire us all to be generous, selfless, positive, to have empathy, to love and to praise creativity in the world. It brought tears to my eyes to be a witness to what you and Richard have created together. WACO is a safe place truly Where Art Can Occur. I love you."

Jessica Alba's 36th Birthday Party

Klaudia//April 30, 2017
Jessica Alba celebrated her 36th birthday with a slew of A-list friends at a Prince vs. Michael Jackson-themed costume party at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood on Friday.

Beyoncé attended the celebration with her former Destiny's Child bandmate and close friend Kelly Rowland. The "Formation" singer was photographed wearing a silver jacket over a black top and covered her face with a black fedora, sparking speculation that she channeled one of the late King of Pop's iconic outfits for the party.

Other celebrity attendees included Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden, Jaime King, Shay Mitchell, Russell Simmons and will.i.am.
