Which Famous Friend's B-Day Did Jay-Z and Beyoncé Celebrate?

Klaudia//January 15, 2011
H to the...Happy Birthday! Jay-Z and Beyoncé hit Skylight West this week to celebrate their friend's birthday, and they weren't the only bold-faced names in the house. Diddy, Russell Simmons and Gayle King all turned out to fete a certain hip-hop heavyweight at an Egypt-themed party. So who was blowing out the candles? It was Mary J. Blige, who turned 40 on Tuesday (aka "1/11/11") in NYC. Her hubby, Martin Kendu Isaacs, organized the surprise soiree, which began with a dinner party at 9 p.m. and went all the way until 3 in the morning. Mary offered toasts to Diddy, for pushing her so hard, as well as Beyoncé, whom she called "an inspiration". Another special surprise was when Anita Baker took the stage to croon "Caught Up in the Rapture." "Mary was moved to tears and started singing along with Baker," a source tells us.

Beyoncé Spending New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas

Klaudia//December 23, 2010
The opening party of the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, going down on New Year's Eve, will feature performances from Jay-Z and his pal Chris Martin's band Coldplay, each copping up to a cool million bucks to play. Also on hand will be Jay's and Chris's respective significant others, Beyoncé and Gwyneth Paltrow, although they will not be performing (officially, that is). But, yeah: Best double date ever!

Beyoncé & Jay-Z's 'Lovey-Dovey' Miami Visit

Klaudia//October 22, 2010
With rumors swirling that Beyoncé is expecting her first child, the singer was content to play the role of supportive wife during a party in Miami Beach with hubby Jay-Z on Wednesday night. The couple kicked back at the Delano Hotel, where Jay-Z was working with Bing to launch the DECODED search experience, an Internet scavenger hunt based on his new book. And though it was Beyoncé making headlines, she left the spotlight all to her husband. As the rapper gave interviews, Beyoncé slipped away into a poolside bungalow, where she ordered snapper, salad and sparkling water from the hotel's Blue Door Fish. "She was wearing a skintight dress that left nothing to the imagination," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "There were no remote physical signs that she was pregnant." It wasn't until later that she emerged, smiling, to hear Jay-Z give a speech. "She almost went unnoticed. She really made it a point not to be in the spotlight, that it was his night," says the onlooker. "At one point, she actually introduced herself to a Jay-Z fan, who was shocked that she was standing there." Later in the evening, the couple retreated to a bungalow together. "They were adorable," says the onlooker. "She was sitting on his leg and they were watching TV. They were lovey-dovey." On Thursday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, denied that her daughter is expecting – yet.

Scoops from the Milan Shows

Klaudia//October 5, 2010
As celebrity fans become more and more de rigeur, Italian designers are catering to the likes of Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue. Beyoncé, in particular, seemed to be making the rounds among Italian footwear designers during the Milan collections, picking out styles for her new album cover and tour. At Casadei, she chose a multicolored Swarovski ankle-strap sandal from the Atelier Collection, which designer Cesare Casadei said referenced 1980s opulence. He stressed that made-in-Italy craftsmanship is especially evident in the style, as it takes one person several days to mount and sew the 800 large Swarovski Elements crystals onto the straps. At Giuseppe Zanotti, Beyoncé was also one of the first to see the new handbag collection, which includes a structured envelope clutch called the Brighton that will be exclusive to the designer’s boutiques, among them the new Beverly Hills, Calif., location bowing in November to cater to his growing celebrity clientele. Beyoncé’s choice was the mosaic mirrored Brighton, along with several styles from the spring footwear collection, which Zanotti described as “much lighter with fewer platforms, and more about allure than over-the-top sexiness.”
