Beyoncé preceded her unannounced performance of Disney classic “When You Wish Upon a Star” with a dedication. “I’d like to dedicate this song to all of the healthcare workers who’ve been working tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. We greatly appreciate you,” she said while also mentioning Feeding America, whose COVID-19 Response Fund is being used to get food and funds to local food banks across the U.S. She then delivered a tender piano-led rendition of the song from Pinocchio.

Time Chooses Beyoncé as 2014 Woman of the Year

Klaudia//March 7, 2020
Time magazine has chosen 100 "Women of the Year," selecting one trailblazing woman to represent each year from 1920 to 2019. It's a distinctive way to celebrate Women's History Month, but it's also an acknowledgement that for many years, women's contributions were systematically overlooked.

For 72 years, Time's most anticipated cover was called "Man of the Year" — until 1999, when the magazine changed the title to "Person of the Year."

Still, the male trend continued, and most of the people chosen for "Person of the Year" have been, in fact, men. So, as a reparation of sorts, Time is honoring 100 women now — from suffragists to Beyoncé, and many in between.

Beyoncé kicks off Kobe Bryant memorial

Klaudia//February 24, 2020
Beyoncé, backed by a choir, kicked off the Kobe Bryant memorial at Staples Center on Monday, capping a friendship that had lasted for decades. But she stopped singing almost immediately and invited the audience to join her in song.

“I’m here because I love Kobe. And this was one of his favorite songs,” Beyoncé said as she introduced a spectral rendition of “XO,” from her 2013 self-titled album, before transitioning to “Halo,” a tearjerker from 2008’s “I Am ... Sasha Fierce.”

Jay-Z explains sitting during National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV

Klaudia//February 6, 2020
Jay-Z has a message for all those who believed he and his wife Beyoncé were engaging in a silent protest at this year's Super Bowl: "It actually wasn't. Sorry."

The couple received some criticism after TMZ posted video showing them and their 8-year-old daughter Blue Ivy sitting while Demi Lovato performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Super Bowl LIV.

On Tuesday TMZ posted video of Jay-Z addressing what happened during an appearance at Columbia University in New York City.

According to the mogul, the whole thing "was not premeditated at all," but was instead a case of him doing his job given that his Roc Nation corporation has a partnership with the NFL which includes producing the Super Bowl halftime show and other major performances.

He said his wife, who was a featured performer at the Super Bowl in 2013 and 2016, was offering him some insight about the experience and they were seated from the time Yolanda Adams sang "America the Beautiful" before Lovato sang the National Anthem.

Beyonce Remembers Kobe Bryant

Klaudia//January 30, 2020
Beyonce has paid tribute to the late basketball great Kobe Bryant.

Queen Bey, a regular guest at Los Angeles Lakers games, the franchise Kobe spent his entire pro career with, shared a series of images on social media remembering the future Hall of Famer.

In one post on Instagram, Bey captioned a now-famous image of Bryant on the sidelines at a Lakers game, kissing his daughter Gianna on the head. The pair both perished last weekend in a helicopter accident in Calabasas, along with seven others.

“I will continue to diligently pray for your Queens,” she writes. “You are deeply missed beloved Kobe.”

Beyonce also posted cute, separate photos of a young Kobe and Gianna, without comment.
