Producer Deputy Dishes On New Beyonce Music

Klaudia//July 13, 2015
Producer Deputy is etching both his name and sound into the minds of the masses – thanks largely to the commercial and Pop cultural success of Rihanna‘s ‘Bitch Better Have My Money.’

Together with songwriter Bibi, the Roc Nation talent crafted the hit on everyone’s lips – and is gearing up to bake even more blazing numbers for RiRi.

Speaking to That Grape Juice while in London recently, the rising star relived his journey and revealed that he’s also worked on new music for Beyonce and Alicia Keys.

Who else are you working with at the moment— here in London and home in the US?

Deputy: Out here, I’m working with the artist Ray right now. Met with Dizzee Rascal earlier during the visit. Tinie Tempah, Nick Brewer.

Over in the US—Zendaya, Keke Palmer, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys.

So, you’re not going to say Beyonce’s name and we’re not going to kind of hone in on that. Tell us a little bit about what it’s been like working with her?

Deputy: I actually don’t know. I did a record, and for the people who heard it, thought it was really a dope Beyonce record—so, we got it over to her and she liked it.

The whole ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ experience has opened a lot of doors. It’s also taught me to not overthink things anymore. You know, once I do the record and I decide to just leave it alone and just let things happen, right? And then if they happen, they happen, and if they don’t, I just keep it moving—work on to the next project.

Beyoncé-inspired skyscraper to be built in Melbourne

Klaudia//July 8, 2015
Australian firm Elenberg Fraser has won planning approval for a 226-metre-high Melbourne skyscraper that will feature a curvaceous form taken from a music video by Beyoncé.

The new Premiere Tower at 134 Spencer Street will boast a series of curves and bulges designed to make it as structurally efficient as possible, but that also reference one of Beyoncé's music videos.

The shape is an homage to the undulating fabric-wrapped bodies of dancers in the singer's music video for Ghost – a song from her self-titled 2013 album, which was originally published as one half of track called Haunted but released as a stand-alone music video.

"For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic – we're going to trust you've seen the music video for Beyoncé's Ghost," said the Melbourne-based studio.

The 68-storey structure, which was approved by planning officials in May, will be located at the west end of the city's central business district. It will contain 660 apartments, as well as a 160-room hotel.

Parametric modelling – a type of computer-aided design that allows complex shapes to be created in response to data constraints – was used to develop the unique form, which will swell in and out at various points around the facade.

Chime for Change & Global Citizen Announce Partnership

Klaudia//July 8, 2015

CHIME FOR CHANGE and Global Citizen are proud to announce a long-term partnership to build a global campaign that will create change for girls and women around the world. Global Citizen’s community of people wants to learn about the critical issues facing women, and to take action in support of them.

Gender equality is fundamental to Global Citizen’s long-term objective of ending extreme poverty by 2030. Women account for half of the world’s population, but three-fifths of those in extreme poverty. Women also perform two-thirds of the world’s working hours, yet earn only ten per cent of the world’s income, and own less than one per cent of the world’s property.

This partnership will provide CHIME FOR CHANGE a global platform – GlobalCitizen.org – to engage millions of people around the world by educating and encouraging them to take meaningful action in support of girls and women. Together, these two groups will aim to achieve measurable outcomes for girls’ and women’s issues, leveraging the combination of their powerful platforms, communities, partners and influence.

In addition, Gucci and CHIME FOR CHANGE will serve as Presenting Partners at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in Central Park on September 26 in New York City.
