Beyonce Hits the Studio with Miguel

Klaudia//October 31, 2012
One can't deny that Beyoncé knows how to choose her collaborators. She's worked with The-Dream, Frank Ocean, Shakira, husband, Jay-Z, and now Miguel.

The singer-songwriter, who recently worked with Alicia Keys on "Kaleidsocope Dream" track, "Where's the Fun in Forever," teams up with King B.

Earlier tonight (Tues. Oct. 30), Miguel shared a photo on instagram of himself and Bey' at a studio session. "...woah. creating for Virgo's all weekend," Miguel tweeted.

There aren't details as to whose project we can expect to hear the magic their creating. I'm crossing my fingers and toes it's for an upcoming full-length of Bey's.

Lady Gaga Plotting 'Telephone' Sequel

Klaudia//October 25, 2012
Fans hoping for a sequel to Lady Gaga's hit "Telephone" should know that Mother Monster has news for you: part two is on its way!

It turns out there just might be a little more musical magic left for Gaga and her pal Beyoncé to conjure up. While hard at work on her 2013 album release, ARTPOP, the singer confirmed on Wednesday (October 24) that there will be a follow-up to the 2010 Fame Monster single.

Responding to a fan, @drunky_gaga, who asked on Twitter, "I heard the continuation of telephone will be on ARTPOP! fact or fake?" Gaga replied simply: "Fact." Little else is known about the tune at this point, and a rep for Beyoncé told MTV News on Wednesday they had "no info."

It was only a few years ago that Lady Gaga and the Queen B teamed up for one of the fiercest pop collaborations in recent memory. "Telephone" not only proved to be infectious ear candy, but the accompanying clip, which imagined the pop stars as "Thelma & Louise" types with a taste for couture and murder, became an instant smash.

Beyonce sues the man who leaked "4"

Klaudia//October 3, 2012
While it has been fairly common in recent times for users of other file-sharing systems to be pursued by the Swedish authorities, BitTorrent sharers have been almost completely avoided due to evidential difficulties. But this week sees a change and what could become a turning point, with the prosecution of a music industry worker who leaked an unreleased Beyonce album onto The Pirate Bay.

On Monday a man was sued for copyright infringement. He is suspected of illegally file-sharing music albums, which in itself is not exactly out of the ordinary.

However, this prosecution has a number of interesting elements which together make for a unique case.

Firstly, it concerns the leak of unreleased music. According to authorities, on June 8, 2011 a 47-year-old man from western Sweden shared Beyonce’s album ’4′ on The Pirate Bay in advance of its commercial release on June 24.

According to DN.se, during interrogations the man admitted having an interest in music and also working in the music industry.

Music sharing cases have been prosecuted in Sweden before, but authorities see this as an opportunity to test how far punishments can be pushed in a pre-release case.

“Scope, intent and other factors play a role in the penalty assessment. In this case it is in my opinion an important factor that pre-release music has been made available. I can imagine this causing greater harm,” says Henrik Rasmusson.

Alicia Keys explains missing Beyoncé collaboration

Klaudia//September 24, 2012
Alicia Keys has publicly spoken out about her missing collaboration with fellow music star Beyoncé.

The pair recorded and filmed a music video together for the song 'Put it in a Love Song' in 2010, but the track was cancelled as a single before the video could be released.

In an interview with Essence magazine, Keys addressed the reasons behind pulling the highly-anticipated video, which featured herself and Beyoncé wearing colorful African prints in Brazil.

She said: "Sometimes with creative things all comes together and it's , and sometimes things almost come together and it's better to just leave it.

"We had a ball shooting the video. It just so happens that the whole thing, for some reason or another, didn't quite come together, so we just decided to leave it."

'Dance For You' Hits Top 10 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs

Klaudia//September 22, 2012
Beyoncé's album "4" nabs its fourth top 10 hit single on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week as "Dance For You" sashays 13-10. It's the sixth cut from "4" to reach the tally, following "Run the World (Girls)" (No. 30), "Best Thing I Never Had" (No. 4), "Party" (No. 2), "Countdown" (No. 12) and "Love On Top" (No. 1)."

It marks the third time Bey' has claimed a quartet of top 10s from a single album. Her debut set "Dangerously In Love" and its follow-up, "B'Day," both notched four top 10s.

"Dance For You" also gives Beyoncé her 19th top 10 as a soloist, extending her lead for the most top 10s among female artists since 2000. Alicia Keys is a distant second with 14 top 10s in that time span, though she seems close to earning her 15th in the coming weeks.

More impressively, on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart (viewable on billboard.biz), "Dance For You" marks her fifth top 10 -- the first time she's claimed five top 10s on that tally from one album.

Beyonce's '4' very adult album

Klaudia//September 1, 2012
Beyonce's '4' album 'made more sense' to producer Diplo - who worked on two tracks on it - once he found out she was pregnant.

The producer and his DJ partner Switch worked on two tracks on the album, first single 'Run the World (Girls)' and 'End of Time', and although he was initially confused by why it was such an 'adult' album, he grew to love it.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the launch of Red Bull Culture Clash: 'When it first came out, I wished I had worked on more of the record, but after a year passed I became a huge fan.

'We knew the two records that we did, but when it came out it had all those ballads, and then I realised, it made a lot more sense when I found out she was pregnant.

'In the studio I didn't know really where she was with her attitude but it's a very adult record.

'She's made a lot of dance and club records, but this whole album is a very adult record, and in retrospect I really appreciate it a lot, more than I did when I first heard it.'

Diane Warren Writing Songs For New Beyoncé Album

Klaudia//August 17, 2012
Diane Warren has found her latest muse, and it’s Beyoncé.

Warren, who wrote the ballad “I Was Here” for Beyoncé’s latest album, 4, said she’s writing material for the megastar’s upcoming album.

Warren said she played a few songs for Beyoncé in New York last week. “They’re great songs,” Warren said of the new tracks she wrote for the 30-year-old singer. “I think they’re on the level of (‘I Was Here’) and I’m really excited about that.”

She compared writing for Beyoncé to a screenwriter having Meryl Streep or Robert De Niro act in his or her movie.

“Some people come in my studio and I’m like, ‘Oh god,’ and you’ve got to fix them up and it’s just hard,” Warren said. “Some of the people that get deals, you just can’t understand. But then when you work with a Beyoncé or so sadly Whitney (Houston) ... it’s so beautiful.”

Beyoncé isn’t the only Destiny’s Child member getting the Diane Warren treatment: “I’m working with Kelly Rowland because Beyoncé was telling her to get together with me.”
