Beyoncé's Rep Smacks Down Album Delay Rumors

Klaudia//July 26, 2013
Rumors that Beyoncé is crazy behind schedule when it comes to putting out her next album have been greatly exaggerated.

The songstress' camp is shooting down a story in The Hollywood Reporter that surfaced Wednesday and quoted a source as saying that Beyoncé has shelved more than 50 songs she's been working on and decided to start over because she's unhappy with the direction of the record and has yet to find a theme.

Her rep confirms to E! News that Queen B has never scheduled a release date for the new material and that she's been busy recording the tracks while on the road for her Mrs. Carter World Tour.

So any chatter to the contrary is all a bunch of hooey.

What sparked the rep's denial was partly the report's suggestion that executives at her label, Columbia, have been growing increasingly jittery regarding Beyoncé's desire to work on the album while juggling the rigors of a global trek.

Especially since her last disc was 2011's 4, the production for which she oversaw on her own without label supervision and which is her lowest-selling album to date, having moved 1.4 million copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. It also failed to score a top 10 hit.

Contrast that effort with 2008's I Am…Sasha Fierce, which sold 3 million and spawned the No. 1 hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and perhaps it's not surprising to hear the 31-year-old superstar is taking her sweet time with the follow-up given the pressure to deliver bigger sales as expectations soar.

Jay-Z And Beyonce Dance To Her Unreleased Music

Klaudia//July 10, 2013
Jay-Z has been all about "new rules," but even Hov finds comfort in going back to tried-and-true methods. On Tuesday (July 9), Jigga dropped his Magna Carta ... Holy Grail at retail, hoisted an RIAA-certified platinum plaque (Beyonce congratulated him on her official website) and visited his old friend Angie Martinez, touching on a wide range of topics at the New York radio personality's Hot 97 .

Hov talked about his new album of, course, but he also addressed Monday's Twitter spree, daughter Blue Ivy and wifey Beyoncé (and her wealth of unreleased material).

"Right now, Bey has 100,000 amazing songs, just playing 'em," Jay revealed of the singer's much-anticipated album. To which an astonished Martinez asked, "And what do you guys do, just listen to it in the speaker for yourself?" Jay laughed saying, "Yeah, dance to it in our socks!"

While Jay does touch on his fears of fatherhood on MCHG's "Jay Z Blue," he told Martinez that he'd like to have more kids. "Absolutely, God willing," he said, cracking a joke about the number of children he'd like to have and his new role as a sports agent : "Get this little basketball team going. ... It's all part of the elaborate plan."

The rapper and business mogul was charming throughout the interview. He shot down the notion that he and Bey would ever do a Best of Both Worlds-style duet album and praised his pal Kanye West for his work on Yeezus. "I love it," he said of West's experimental LP. "It's polarizing because it's art. That's what art is; it forces you to have an opinion."

Ashley Everett on Dancing With Beyonce

Klaudia//June 26, 2013
If you’ve ever been to a Beyonce concert than you’ve seen Ashley Everett on stage hitting every move in unison with the performer.

At the tender age of 17, the red-headed beauty made her first adult decision between two life changing paths: Going to one of the biggest schools (Juilliard) in the world, or staying on tour and focus on being a professional dancer. She doesn’t regret her decision for a second (could you blame her?), but when she recounts her choices, she often says “my life would be so different.”

This is just the beginning for Ms. Everett. The dancer starred in the pilot episode of Hit The Floorand will make more appearances once she’s done touring. Get to know the lady who spends almost as much time with BaddieBey as Jay andBlue Ivy, and lean in as she talks about working with H&M, juggling a long distance relationship, and advice for dancers.

What was your first day like working with Beyonce, if you can remember?
I was so young, I was like 17. The first job I did was when Bday came out and she was shooting all these videos for a video DVD for the album. They asked me to come to LA and I was there with all these dancers who were shooting videos in 10 days. It was really overwhelming for me at 17. I was looking at like “wow, omg that’s really that person!” I felt like I was at a big convention of professional dancers and I was trying to keep up with everybody. They asked me to do two videos, I did “Greenlight” and “Get me Bodied”.

What’s the hardest part in keeping up with Beyonce?
She’s definitely a hard worker and that forces us to work hard. All that woman knows is work.

Beyoncé 'Trying To Figure Out New Album'

Klaudia//June 20, 2013
Ne-Yo has revealed that Beyoncé is still trying to figure out her new album.

The singer, who is working with Queen B on her fifth studio set, has told Billboard that the former Destiny's Child star hasn't finished the LP yet - despite fans hoping for its release in the near future.

Ne-Yo explained: "I'm still putting stuff together for Beyoncé's album. They're still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I'm not mad at.

"Beyoncé's the kind of artist where you're not gonna see it till it's right. And her fans - they love her so they'll be patient."

Is The Dream Bringing Out The Ratchet In Beyonce?

Klaudia//June 7, 2013
Beyonce is “definitely ratchet,” says The Dream. Naysayers doubt the authenticity of what some see as Bey’s proud new ratchet phase. Others who’ve followed her career from day one say she’s clearly always been this way. So is The Dream responsible for all this ratchetness?

The Dream couldn’t stop talking about ratchet in our sit down with him to discuss all things IV Play. He loves all things ratchet including his song “Turnt” featuring Beyonce and 2 Chainz, which he says is absolutely ratchet. Not only is Bey his self-proclaimed sister, Dream’s working on Bey’s forthcoming album, so he’d obviously have the inside scoop on Bey’s ratchet ways. We had to know if he put her up to the “Ratchet” gold hoop earrings she rocked on Instagram, or her cursing in songs like “Bow Down” (which he didn’t write or produce) or her rocking a gold grill while showing her support for the president. But per Dream, that’s all Bey. “I think it’s about being comfortable being where you are at a certain time,” he said. “Bey is bigger than life. I can’t even imagine this guy, Terius Nash, being that big and having to hold all this ratchet in.”

The Houston chanteuse has had it in her for quite some time. YouTube some of her early Destiny’s Child interviews, particularly the one where she’s eating grapes during a freaking interview. We love this by the way. And let’s not forget her favorite restaurant is Popeye’s. As far as her telling “bitches” to “bow down,” Dream says every now and then you have to get some things off your chest. “Sometimes you just got to let a little steam off. Turn up.” Bey loves a good turn up. After all, she was spotted at NYC’s Grits and Biscuits party, y’all. Straight ratchet!

Beyonce Debuts New Song 'Rise Up' From 'Epic'

Klaudia//June 6, 2013
Beyonce has unveiled her latest power ballad online.

New song 'Rise Up' is taken from 'Epic', the upcoming animated film to which Beyonce lends her spoken voice to as character Queen Tara.

It's a shift from her recent high-adrenaline tracks such as 'Grown Woman', but the lyrics still champions girl-power.

Whether 'Rise Up' - co-written by Sia and produced by Hit-Boy and Chase N. Cashe - will appear on Beyonce's new album is, of course, yet to be seen.

Take a listen to the positive song below.

The Story Behind "Is She The Reason"

Klaudia//June 2, 2013
9th Wonder: “Jay called me in May of 2004. I was home cleaning up, and Jay called me on the phone! He called me! I mean Jay just don’t be calling motherfuckers. He was like, ‘Yo, man, I want you to send that beat CD you gave me to Destiny’s Child.’

“I can’t tell you that much about that record. That was a record that I gave to the boys and they put Wayne on it and that’s all I know.

”Now at the time, I hadn’t bought one Destiny’s Child record in my life. Everybody else was a big Beyonce fan, but this girl LeToya was who stood out to me. And she wasn’t in the group anymore. So once again, it wasn’t something I expected.

”I sent out the beat CD that day, then Teresa LaBarbera from Jive called me, and Angie, who’s Beyonce’s cousin called me. My second daughter was born on June 7, 2004. On June 28, I was in L.A. for three days with Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle.

“I cut three records with them, while I was out there. I had the beat for ‘Is She The Reason,’ but for ‘Girl” and ‘Game Over,’ I actually brought samples in, and made them when I was at the session. ‘Is She The Reason’ is one of my favorite records that I ever did. I just made that beat at home.

”I just flipped a Melba Moore sample, and I didn’t know it was going to be an R&B joint. I had no idea. I played that record, and Beyonce said, ‘I like your beats, but your beats need bridges in them because this is R&B. I want our music to sound like The Emotions, the group from the ‘70s.’ So I was like, ‘Word up!’

”So I tried to figure out a way to make them sound like The Emotions, but keep it up to date. Now one of my favorite R&B groups is SWV, so I was like, ‘Why don’t I try to SWV these girls.’ That’s what ‘Is She The Reason’ is. Actually, same thing goes for ‘Girl,’ and ‘Game Over.’ Because that’s the style of sound I really loved.

“That was one of the best sessions I ever have been in, man. The girls were real cool, real laid-back, and hilarious, and they’re God-fearing girls. Beyonce would sing all night long. We’d be in that joint sleeping. Sean Garrett wrote those songs, and made it real special. And the records we cut are the records we kept.”
