The album features the bonus track "Before I Let Go," a cover of Frankie Beverly & Maze's black cultural anthem, which has sparked a viral dance challenge.

Queen Bey promoted the hashtag with a bee and heart eye emoji on her Instagram Story, a rarity for the singer, who has only used the IG function a few times.

Dressed in all black and seated between 21,000 grievers, Beyoncé, 37, and JAY-Z, 49, were inconspicuous attendees at Nipsey Hussle’s “Celebration Of Life” memorial in Los Angeles on April 11. In the screengrab taken from within Los Angeles’ Staples Center, Beyoncé partially blocks her face in a round brim hat, while her husband wears a formal suit to watch speakers like Snoop Dogg, Lauren London (Nipsey’s girlfriend), and Angelique Smith and Dawit Asghedom (Nipsey’s parents) deliver heartbreaking but empowering tributes.

Beyonce posted an open letter to the late President Nelson Mandela ahead of her performance at the Global Citizen Festival on Sunday. The letter was also published in The Sowetan newspaper.

"Dear Madiba,

I first met you in 2004 for the 46664 AIDS Benefit Concert in Cape Town, and the impact you have had on my life resonates with me today and every day. Your kindness and gratitude for every experience, and your ability to forgive are lessons I have learned and will pass on to my three children. My entire family holds you in high regard.

It is an honor for me to travel to South Africa this week in celebration of you and your efforts to right so many wrongs. You were a strategic warrior, a bold activist, and charismatic and well-loved leader. Your vision for dignity, for human rights, for peace and a South Africa free of racism and apartheid, allows us all to turn dreams into reality. Read more...
Beyonce took to Instagram before the elections:

"I’m feeling grateful for everyone before me who fought so hard to give us all the right to have a voice. We can’t voice our frustrations and complain about what’s wrong without voting and exercising our power to make it right. We need you. We all need each other, because when we are truly united we are unstoppable. Sending you all love and positivity on this happy voting day!
Every vote counts
Every race matters
Everywhere."

Just before inviting the audience to sing along with her at Thursday’s City of Hope Spirit of Life gala, Beyoncé, fresh from her On the Run II tour with husband Jay-Z, had a few words to say to Warner/Chappell Music Chairman and Chief Executive Jon Platt, the night’s honoree.

“I’m so honored to celebrate you tonight,” said the recording superstar, the feathers on her gown fluttering in the light breeze. “Most people in this industry lead with their ego, but you lead with your heart. You’ve touched so many lives, mine included.”

She then launched into a powerful four-song set of “XO,” “Perfect,” “Ave Maria” and “Halo.”
