Natasya's Starlight Wish to meet Beyonce

Klaudia//December 6, 2013
After an arteriovenous malfunction that led to bleeding in the brain and a stroke, 15 year old Natasya spent months on recovery. Natasya had to learn how to walk again, had to do speech pathology, had to spend months on physio, had to remain positive. It was Beyonce, Natasya's favourite artist, who was a huge inspiration for her and gave her the hope to remain positive throughout. So when Beyonce sang to Natasya personally while on stage during a concert in her Mrs Carter Show World Tour, the moment was truly IRREPLACEABLE.

Natasya's Starlight Wish was an absolute dream come true for her. Her family got their hair and make-up done in the morning before a limo picked transported them to the venue where they had VIP front row seats. It was such an incredible experience for an amazing teenager like Natasya and we're so glad we got to see a snippet of her experience in this video, take a look for yourselves!

Beyonce Passes $100 Million in Ticket Sales

Klaudia//November 23, 2013
Beyoncé earns the No. 1 Hot Tours ranking with $44.9 million in box office grosses from her fall tour through cities in Latin America and Australia, taking the Mrs. Carter Show world tour past the $100 million mark in box office sales since launching in April. The overall gross from the ongoing tour is $104.3 million from more than 883,000 sold tickets at 59 performances, based on box office stats reported to Billboard. Kicking off on April 15 in Serbia, the tour played 23 venues in Europe and 24 in North America through the end of August before beginning tour legs in Latin America and Australia in early September.

The revenue reported this week comes from 19 concerts during the fall trek of the pop star’s world tour. Kicking off a five-city swing through Brazil on Sept. 8, Beyoncé performed in stadiums to begin her South American jaunt. The São Paulo market produced the best attendance among the Brazilian stadiums with more than 37,000 tickets purchased at Estádio do Morumbi. In October and November, the tour traveled Down Under to play six arenas in Australia and New Zealand, wrapping on Nov. 9 in Perth. The top-grosser was a run of four shows at Sydney’s Allphones Arena with $9.4 million (US$) in box office revenue. The four-night stand (Oct. 31-Nov. 3) was the arena’s highest-grossing concert engagement this year, topping box office revenue from multiple performances by P!nk, Bruce Springsteen and One Direction, among others.

Beyoncé Continues partnership with Goodwill

Klaudia//November 18, 2013
Goodwill Industries International and Beyonce continue a partnership this holiday season for Beyonce's second North American leg of The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour which includes 15 concert stops. With the exception of the November 30th date in Vancouver, Canada, the remaining fourteen stops will impact Goodwill headquarters in 13 communities, where Goodwill will encourage fans and concert attendees to #BeyGOOD this holiday season and support Goodwill's job training and community-based services that reduce unemployment and help people care for themselves and their families. Goodwill collected 27,500 pounds (or 14 tons) of donated clothes and goods through its partnership with Beyonce this past summer, equating to more than 800 hours of free on-the-job training at Goodwill career centers.

During the month of December, there are two ways to participate in Goodwill's #BeyGOOD initiative. Ticket holders are asked to bring donations to Goodwill and then bring their donation receipts to the concerts or bring clothes to the concert and look for the Goodwill donation bins to deposit their items. The first 100 ticketholders with their donor receipts or donations, who arrive between 7 and 8 PM, receive stickers qualifying for a chance to be upgraded to the BeyStage or BeyHive VIP areas. Number of available upgrades in each market will be determined the day of the show.

"I am excited to team up once again with Goodwill in supporting their efforts in finding and creating jobs for families in need," said Beyonce.

The donated goods collected during the partnership will be sold in the communities where they were collected, and the revenue will benefit Goodwill's employment programs for people with disabilities, disadvantages and other challenges to finding employment. Goodwill provides a variety of training opportunities, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and sessions on dressing for success, and it provides access to computers, fax machines and phones to meet with potential employers. In addition, Goodwill provides support services so that people have stability both at home and in the workplace. These services include child care, financial education, transportation, youth mentoring and more.

"The people who come through our doors are a diverse group, from single mothers and recent immigrants to people with criminal backgrounds and adults who never finished high school. But everyone is looking for the same thing: a better life," said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. "We're proud that Beyonce is using her platform to share the positive impact Goodwill has on local communities, the environment and the lives of the millions of people Goodwill assists each year. We are incredibly grateful for Beyonce's support of Goodwill's mission."

Beyoncé’s Australia & NZ Tour Does Big Business

Klaudia//November 12, 2013
Beyoncé's latest tour of Australia and New Zealand was “by far” her biggest trek yet in the region, shifting almost 220,000 tickets and grossing more than Australian $40 million ($37 million), promoter Live Nation reported today.

The Down Under leg of the "Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" included 14 arena dates across Australia’s five big cities, and four in Auckland, New Zealand. The tour grew from its initial itinerary of six-dates across the two countries.

Along the way, Bey’s shows set a handful of attendance records. The four dates at Auckland’s Vector Arena attracted 44,596 ticket-buyers, a new benchmark for the venue (Roger Waters’ 2012 “The Wall Live” tour previously held the record).

Also, the final night of the tour at Perth Arena on the weekend had a paid attendance of 14,758, a new record for the year-old venue, breaking the mark set recently by Pink.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with Beyoncé since the first Destiny’s Child tour in 2000,” notes Michael Coppel, president and CEO of Live Nation Australasia, “but this tour has been an absolute standout in terms of the showcasing her unparalleled talent, energy and joy for performing in one of the most spectacular productions ever to visit this country.”

Bey’s tour was incident-free, and the publicity was largely glowing. In Perth, she produced a moment that will live-on forever thanks to YouTube -- she performed a duet with a blind teenage fan in the audience.

Beyonce dedicates Survivor to Chelsea

Klaudia//November 2, 2013
Beyonce has reunited with her "Aussie angel". The American pop singer took time out from her tour to meet terminally ill cancer patient Chelsea James in Sydney.

The pair are old friends. Beyonce sang for Chelsea when she last played shows here in 2009. Chelsea, 15, is in palliative care in Newcastle.

The reunion was organised by Camp Quality and took place backstage at Allphones Arena on Thursday night.

"I was so excited to meet Beyonce again," Chelsea said. "Last time Beyonce sang to me on stage. This time ... I actually got to meet her backstage and talk to her and laugh with her, which was so cool. I'll never forget this."

"My beautiful angel!," Beyonce wrote in a message to Chelsea after their reunion. "You have no idea how happy you made me seeing you. I will see you the next time I'm in Australia."

In 2009, Beyonce singled out Chelsea, then 11, in the audience and sang her hit Halo, changing the words to, "Chelsea I can see your halo - I pray you won't fade away." The YouTube footage went viral and was picked up by talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres. At the time, Chelsea was given a one per cent chance of survival as she battled a rare form of cancer, a primitive neuroectodermal tumour. The teen recently relapsed for the 14th time.

During Thursday's concert, the singer dedicated her performance of Survivor to Chelsea. "This was such an emotional reunion between Chelsea and Beyonce," Donna James, Chelsea's mother, said.

Leukaemia survivor Bronte Horswood, 12, and nine-year-old cancer sufferer Andrea Al Zened also got to meet Beyonce.
