Jay-Z confirms a joint album with Beyoncé exists

Klaudia//November 30, 2017
Jay-Z got real about everything from his marriage to Beyoncé to his mother's sexuality and his relationship with Kanye West in an interview with T Magazine.

Jay opened up about his infidelity, a personal topic he delved into on 4:44.

"The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself," he said during the interview with New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet.

Between 4:44 and Beyonce's Lemonade, "we were using our art almost like a therapy session," he said, revealing he was "really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released."

Jay confirmed that he and Bey worked on a joint album together around the time Lemonade dropped and that they "still have a lot of that music" that is unreleased.

He also spoke of weathering storms in their relationship. "You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can’t see themselves," he said.

Billy Eichner to Sing With Beyoncé in Lion King

Klaudia//November 20, 2017
Billy Eichner might want to start practicing his scales because the Billy on the Street star just revealed he's going to sing with Beyoncé in the 2019 remake of The Lion King.

E! News' Jason Kennedy caught up with Eichner at the 2017 American Music Awards and asked him about being cast in the live-action film.

"I was freaking out," Eichner told the E! News host. "I mean, the cast is amazing. Me and Seth Rogen are Timon and Pumbaa, so we do ‘Hakuna Matata' and then we also sing ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight' with Simba and Nala, who are going to be voiced by Donald Glover and someone who is named Beyoncé."

Even though the comedian and the Lemonade singer will both be featured in the Elton John hit, Eichner wondered if he'll even get to meet the Grammy-winning artist in-person.

"Why would she want to be in the studio with me?" he said.

In addition to Eichner, Beyoncé, Rogen and Glover, the live-action remake will feature James Earl Jones as Mufasa, John Oliver as Zazu and Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari. The film will be directed by Jon Favreau, who also worked on the 2016 remake of The Jungle Book.

"Walk on Water" Debuts at No. 7 in the UK

Klaudia//November 18, 2017
Camila Cabello has fought off challenges from Rita Ora and Eminem to score a third week atop the Official UK Singles Chart with Havana.

Thanks to a new remix featuring Daddy Yankee, and the original Young Thug version still proving popular, Havana finishes 8,000 ahead of nearest competitor Rita Ora. Rising to Number 2, Anywhere is Rita’s third Top 10 single this year and her highest chart placing since I Will Never Let You Down topped the Official Singles Chart in May 2014.

Highest new entry this week comes from Eminem and Beyoncé at Number 7. Walk On Water becomes Eminem’s 28th UK Top 10, and Beyonce’s 19th as a credited performer.

Eminem & Beyonce Team Up for 'Walk on Water'

Klaudia//November 10, 2017
Just two days ago, (Nov. 8) Eminem sent the internet into a frenzy with a speculative social media post on a "Revival" prescription note that read “Walk on Water. Take as needed.” Prescription note-styled advertisements have popped up across the United States over the past few weeks without much clarification from Em’s team.

Friday, (Nov. 10) Slim Shady posted a hoax infomercial directed at sufferers of AR claiming they will be able to “Walk On Water with Revival." Marshall Mathers returns with a Beyonce feature for his first single that will be appearing on the "Lose Yourself' artist's forthcoming project.

Cardi B & Beyonce May Be Collaborating on a New Song

Klaudia//October 25, 2017
The road to Cardi B's debut album has been smeared with setbacks, as well as huge feats for the rising star, and she might have another accomplishment to add to her already growing resume: a Beyonce feature. According to a snapshot of Michael Ashby's -- Cardi's engineer -- Instagram story, the two artists may have a collaboration in the works.

Ashby, the engineer behind Cardi's hit "Bodak Yellow," shared a photo of a mix titled "Cardi B & Beyonce" and wrote 'Wow this feature is big" over the image. Ashby didn't reveal whether the track is a loosie, or might possibly land on the Bronx rapper's forthcoming album.

Cardi and Beyonce previously met at Made in America festival earlier in September. After meeting Beyonce, Cardi said that she was surprised the "Formation" singer liked her music, and was speechless when they officially met. Miss Tina Lawson, Beyonce's mother, also greeted Cardi backstage at the festival. Billboard reached out to Atlantic Records and Beyonce's reps for comment.

'Runnin' (Lose It All)' Tops TV Commercials Chart

Klaudia//October 15, 2017
Naughty Boy’s “Runnin’ (Lose It All),” featuring Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin, tops Billboard & Clio’s Top TV Commercials chart, powered by Shazam, for September, thanks to the song’s appearance in Chanel’s “Film” ad.

Using tagging data from Shazam, as well as sales and streaming information tracked by Nielsen Music, Billboard partners with Clio Music each month to present a chart ranking the top songs in commercials. Rankings exclude any song that has recently charted within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 or top 10 on a genre chart.

“Runnin’,” which debuted and peaked at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2015, leads all songs with 70,000 Shazam tags, 6,000 downloads sold and 2 million U.S. streams during the month of September, according to Nielsen Music.

The song is the first No. 1 on the chart for Naughty Boy, Beyonce, and Arrow Benjamin. Beyonce’s previous peak on the chart was at No. 2 on the April 2017-dated list, with “Freedom,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, which appeared in Apple Watch’s “Live Bright” commercial.

Beyonce Blasts to No. 3 on Billboard Hot 100 With 'Mi Gente'

Klaudia//October 9, 2017
Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a third week, marking a new longevity record for a hit by an unaccompanied female rapper. Plus, J Balvin and Willy William's "Mi Gente" blasts from No. 21 to No. 3, sparked by its newly added featured artist, Beyonce; Imagine Dragons' "Thunder" rumbles 17-7; and Demi Lovato hits a new best career rank, as "Sorry Not Sorry" rises 10-8 on the latest chart (dated Oct. 21).

As we do every Monday, let's run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 10).

"Mi Gente" surges from No. 21 to No. 3 on the Hot 100 (after previously reaching No. 19), after the first full week of tracking for its new remix featuring Beyonce, scoring the chart's greatest gains in sales and streaming. It rockets 34-1 on Digital Song Sales (79,000 sold, up 436 percent, with 87 percent of its sales from its new remix) and 14-5 on Streaming Songs (28.7 million, up 50 percent), while also climbing 32-29 on Radio Songs (46 million, up 18 percent).

J Balvin and William each earn their first Hot 100 top 10, while Beyonce banks her 17th (as a soloist, to go along with 10 as a member of Destiny's Child). She had last reached the region with Lemonade track "Formation," which spent a week at No. 10 (upon its debut) in May 2016. She notches her highest rank since "Drunk in Love," featuring JAY-Z, peaked at No. 2 on Feb. 15, 2014.

Jean Rodríguez Talks Working With Beyonce

Klaudia//October 6, 2017
Last week, Beyoncé hopped onto the remix of J Balvin’s ubiquitous banger “Mi Gente,” no doubt breaking the internet in the process. Even better than her admirable accent was the fact that the collaboration is a benefit for disaster relief organizations in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Truth be told, this was far from Beyoncé’s first en español moment. It’s clear that Queen B understands the value of the Spanish-language market — but that doesn’t mean she can roll her r’s perfectly just yet. Enter Jean Rodríguez, the Puerto Rican vocal producer who worked with Bey on the “Mi Gente” redux.

Rodríguez is a pro at coaching stars who want to try their hand at bilingual tracks. The Puerto Rican vocal producer (who’s also part of the duo COASTCITY and just so happens to be Luis Fonsi’s brother) battled with Trey Songz about working harder on his accent for the Spanish version of “Can’t Help But Wait,” an insistence that Rodríguez says led to “friction” in the studio. (You be the judge on how Songz’s linguistic experimentation wound up.) He’s aided Juanes, Alejandro Sanz, and Prince Royce on English-language tracks, and is no stranger to hip-hop, reggaeton, and other urbano genres. When Wisin & Yandel wanted an English hook for their EDM flex “Algo Que Me Gusta De Ti” with T-Pain and Chris Brown, Rodríguez was there.

His studio time with B took place in The Hamptons, where she and Jay-Z have recently been making some real estate moves. Rodríguez had little time to prepare for his royal appointment; he didn’t know which star he’d be coaching on the “Mi Gente” remix until the day of the session.

Here's How Beyonce Joined J Balvin & Willy William's 'Mi Gente'

Klaudia//September 30, 2017
On Thursday evening, Beyonce shared a 20 second video on Instagram announcing she had joined a remix of J Balvin and Willy William's hit "Mi Gente" and would donate all her proceeds to disaster relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other recently affected Caribbean islands.

Following in the footsteps of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's record-breaking success with the Justin Bieber-featuring "Despacito" remix, Beyonce's good news with a good cause marked a big moment for Latin music in the mainstream. With Queen Bey singing in both Spanish and English on the track, it and its star-studded music video racked up millions of streams in its first 24 hours, topping iTunes' sales charts in 30 countries and YouTube's trend ranking, and looks prime to hit the Hot 100 top 10.

Here's how the collaboration came to be:

A remake of an original song by French DJ Willy Williams, "Mi Gente" had the makings of a global hit when it was first released in April and immediately sparked talk of a general market remix. "But we wanted it to live for a while and get as big as it could on a global scale in Spanish," says Rebeca Leon, who co-manages Balvin with Balvin's label, Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE).

The "lofty goal," says UMLE president Victor Gonzalez, "was to make it No. 1 on Spotify at a global level."
