Klaudia//March 27, 2013
Beyoncé have come out in support of equal marriage on the first day that the US Supreme Court has taken on two cases challenging same-sex marriage bans.

Posting on her official Facebook page, the singer made bold statement in favour of marriage equality.

Beyoncé joined thousands in posting a modified Human Rights Campaign logo which went viral yesterday on social media, in support of striking down equal marriage bans.

She wrote: “It’s about TIME!!! #EQUALITY #MarryWhoYouLove”, in the post which over 60,000 people liked on Facebook within the first hour that it was posted.

She accompanied the post with a hand-written note which read: “If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it, #wewillunite4marriageequality”, a reference to her lyric from the song Single Ladies.

Klaudia//March 26, 2013
Beyoncé Knowles will headline a global concert in London on Saturday June 1, as part of Gucci's international campaign Chime For Change which aims to raise funds for female empowerment. The event, which will be broadcast around the world, will also feature performances from Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Rita Ora, Laura Pausini and Timbaland. The news was announced this morning at a press conference in London.

"Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible," said Chime For Change co-founder and concert artistic director, Beyoncé Knowles. "I am excited for us to come together on June 1 to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage."

As well as music, the concert - entitled The Sound Of Change Live - will also show inspirational short films and stories highlighting women's global issues. The event, to be held at Twickenham Stadium, will be produced by Control Room's Kevin Wall and Aaron Grosky, who were behind Live Earth and Live Aid.

Gucci will provide financial assistance to put on the show, so that all ticket sales will go to towards charities fighting for better education, justice and health for women. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday March 27. There will also be the option to choose which charity ticket sales will be donated to.

"This is the emergency and the opportunity of today," said Gucci creative director and Chime For Change co-founder Frida Giannini. "We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls' and women's empowerment and now is the time for change. On June 1 at Twickenham Stadium, I hope that The Sound Of Change Live will help the voices calling for change to become so loud that they cannot be ignored."

Beyoncé's new album not finished yet, says Ryan Tedder

Klaudia//March 22, 2013
Beyoncé's new album isn't finished yet, according to Ryan Tedder.

The OneRepublic frontman has been working with the star on new music, but only put the finishing touches to his contributions very recently.

"What I've been a part of is my favourite thing that I'm working on at the moment and I'm finishing today actually," Tedder told Popjustice.

"I'm praying to God that it's not too late as I've been so busy it's taken me two weeks to get this damn thing done. But it gives me goosebumps."

He added: "I never know what's going to make a record, so I don't want to be the guy going, 'I've made the biggest hit on the album', and then it's not on there."

Beyoncé For H&M Confirmed

Klaudia//March 21, 2013
H&M is proud to announce a new partnership for its summer campaign with global superstar Beyoncé. The entertainer, who kicks off her sold out Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on April 15, will appear in television and print ads featuring pieces from the H&M summer collection. The print and outdoor billboards introduce "Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M”, the idea that all women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun, flirtatious. The clothing will be available beginning May in H&M stores worldwide and online.

“I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial,” says Beyoncé.

“H&M’s summer campaign starring Beyoncé is an epic fantasy, with glamour, drama and also a sense of paradise. It was amazing to watch her on the shoot make it all look effortless – a quality that makes her such an icon for women around the world. The campaign is the essence of Beyoncé, and also the essence of H&M this summer,” says Donald Schneider, Creative Director, H&M.

“In the campaign Beyoncé is wearing the key pieces from H&M you need for life in the sun this summer,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design, H&M. “There’s the perfect bodycon dress, as well as a flowing sun dress that makes a real statement. And of course there are the bikinis, especially the fringed bikini. What makes these pieces even more special is that Beyoncé herself had input into the design, and they are full of her own personal style.”

The summer campaign features swimwear and beachwear pieces as well as a tie-dye bikini from this summer’s H&M for Water collection. 25% of sales from the H&M for Water collection will be donated to H&M for WaterAid. Since 2002, H&M’s initiative with WaterAid has raised £2,650,000.

The campaign images were shot in Nassau in the Bahamas by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, while the commercial was directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The commercial highlights the opposing nature of the four basic elements and will be available to view online in its entirety, with edited versions for TV. The commercial also features a new song from Beyoncé, Standing On The Sun, which will be available worldwide online and hm.com beginning May.

Contrary to reports claiming superstars Adele and Beyonce have been scheduled to perform at a birthday bash for Michelle Obama, the two will not be making musical appearances.

"Adele has graciously accepted and waived her usual fee for the high-profile private performance. She will sing a selection of her most-loved hits for the first lady and her friends."

Beyoncé Leads New Gucci Empowerment Campaign

Klaudia//March 1, 2013
Beyoncé Knowles, Salma Hayek and Frida Giannini have launched a new Gucci global campaign for female empowerment, Chime For Change. The initiative aims to raise funds and awareness in support of projects for girls and women around the world, through sharing "powerful stories" about inspiring females.

"I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be," said Knowles. "It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world. I'm honoured to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies."

The campaign will be officially announced at the TEDxWomen luncheon today by Salma Hayek, who will present a short film detailing the aims of the scheme - narrated by the actress, and set to new music by Knowles (watch below). The video is the first in a series of ten Chime For Change short films featuring inspirational women's stories.

"I am proud to be joining the growing international movement on behalf of girls and women around the world," said Hayek. "I believe that by working together we can change the course of history to ensure that girls and women are empowered to realise their potential and thrive."

The Chime for Change campaign is also joined by an advisory board of experts and global advocates - including Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Jada Pinkett Smith, Francois-Henri Pinault, Gordon and Sarah Brown and Arianna Huffington. Gucci has a history of supporting women's rights movements - including a seven-year partnership with UNICEF in support of girls' education - as well as founding two female film awards; the Spotlighting Women Documentary Award and the Gucci Award for Women in Cinema with the Venice Film Festival.

"This is the emergency and the opportunity of today," said Giannini. "We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls' and women's empowerment and now is the time for change. I think it is essential for girls and women to see and celebrate what is possible. I hope that through Chime we can help the voices calling for change to become so loud that they cannot be ignored."

Beyonce's HBO Doc Pulls 1.8 Million Viewers

Klaudia//February 19, 2013
Beyonce proved a huge draw for HBO on Saturday night.

The intimate documentary about the singer, Beyonce: Life is But a Dream, pulled 1.8 million viewers during its inaugural outing at 9 p.m. ET. It's the largest audience for a HBO doc since Nielsen revised its method of measuring viewership in 2004.

The only other documentary to approach Beyonce's haul was previous record-setter When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. The Spike Lee miniseries about the devastation caused to New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina earned 1.7 million viewers in 2006.

Life is But a Dream's handsome haul pulled three times the ratings of recent first-runs for HBO's Sunday series Girls.
