Beyonce's Next Single Is "Partition"?

Klaudia//February 20, 2014
Beyonce is currently enjoying her biggest hit in five years with Jay Z-assisted “Drunk In Love”, which recently hit No. 1 on Rhythmic Songs, but it looks like Mrs. Carter is already thinking about her next single. Yesterday (February 19) a radio edit of bedroom anthem “Partition” surfaced online, which suggests she’s about the make the airwaves a much sexier place in the imminent future.

The problem is that there’s no official confirmation. Bey doesn’t play the press release game anymore and her label probably doesn’t know what she’s up to anyway. The edit certainly sounds slick enough to be authentic but I’d be surprised if she hacks “Partition” down to a measly three minutes. I guess we won’t know for sure until it hits iTunes.

As for the selection of “Partition” as single number three? Well, its highly explicit nature — for non-Hive this is the song in which Beyonce memorably laments “he Monica Lewinsky‘d all on my gown” — makes it an uneasy fit for pop radio but it’s already climbing the Billboard Hot 100 due to streaming and has strong download sales. Listen to the purported radio edit below.

Beyoncé Confirmed For Brit Awards

Klaudia//February 19, 2014
Beyoncé will perform at this year's Brit Awards, it has been confirmed.

James Corden - who will present tonight's award ceremony for a record fifth time - confirmed that the US superstar will make an appearance on stage.

"There's this weird thing with this year's Brits where I've been - more than any other year - told things I can't say," Corden told BBC Radio 2's Zoe Ball. "But I figure it's the day..."

The star then turned to his PR and asked if he could reveal the news, before confirming: "I must be able to tell you? Beyoncé. Beyoncé is performing tonight.

"She's performing a track she has never ever performed live before. Ever."

The Brit Awards 2014 will take place at London's O2 Arena this evening (February 19) and air on ITV from 8pm. You can also watch the ceremony live on YouTube.

Beyonce to partner with The Prince's Trust

Klaudia//February 14, 2014
Beyonce's global campaign #BeyGood is set to help UK youth charity, The Prince's Trust, change the lives of disadvantaged young people.

The superstar and Prince's Trust ambassador's #BeyGood campaign, which encourages people to be kind, be charitable and #BeyGood to each other and their communities, will raise vital funds for The Prince's Trust on the UK tour dates of the Mrs Carter Show World Tour.

Beyonce said: 'As a young child I was blessed to have the support of my family who encouraged me to reach for my goals. So many young people don't have this. I am honored to partner the #BeyGood campaign with The Prince's Trust to help young people beat the odds and create better lives for themselves.'

Fans wanting to be part of the #BeyGood movement are encouraged to make a £3 text or online donation to the youth charity to help disadvantaged young people across the UK into jobs at a time when one in five (20 per cent) are struggling to find work.

Concert ticket holders who make a donation or wear a #BeyGood t-shirt will be given an official #BeyGood sticker at The Prince's Trust donation site situated in the venue. They will then be given the chance to be randomly selected for a seat upgrade to an exclusive VIP area near the front of the stage.

A limited number of #BeyGood t-shirts will be available to buy at The Prince's Trust Tomorrow's Store in Liverpool Street. Fans can also bring used items of clothing to a donation site at each venue in return for a #BeyGood sticker, and these will be distributed to those in need.

To join Beyonce in support of The Prince's Trust, go to: www.princes-trust.org.uk/beygood where donations can be made online or text donate £3 by texting BEYGOOD to 70660.

Ty Hunter Talks The Mrs. Carter Show 2014

Klaudia//February 12, 2014
To say that Ty Hunter is rad would be the understatement of the year. The Houston-bred stylist -- who lives in Harlem -- started working with Destiny's Child when, uh, there was still such a thing as Destiny's Child. And he's now responsible not only for the creative direction of Beyonce's video and performance ensembles (sparkly Saint Laurent tights, included), but her personal ones too (remember that white Michael Costello number she wore to the Grammys? You can thank Ty for that).

We caught up with Hunter in the front row of Naeem Khan's stunning, shine-heavy fall '14 show Tuesday (where he hung out with fellow music styling master June Ambrose as Padma Lakshmi, Teen Wolf star Holland Roden and Disney darling Debby Ryan kicked it nearby) to find out how the man responsible for dressing the woman whose outfit selfies reach 10,000,000 Instagram followers does fashion week.

Pret-a-Reporter: Will you be in L.A. for any Oscars festivities?

Ty Hunter: No, we're heading back on tour on 16th in the UK and we'll be gone for a month.

PaR: Does this mean that the world will have a whole new set of Beyonce costumes/outfits/everything to stalk, er, pay attention to every day?

TH: The new album is going to be affiliated with . And most of the designers we've already used on the tour are revamping their looks. So they'll be some new costumes for sure. It will be exciting!

Jay-Z Gifts Beyonce With Promise Bracelet

Klaudia//February 12, 2014
What does the guy who has everything give the girl who has everything? There are only so many gold-plated limousines, crystal-studded private jets and yachts renamed in one’s honor you can give before it starts to feel old. This year, Jay Z went back to basics, selecting a simple, mixed-metal bracelet with a sentimental message to give to his bride, Beyoncé.

Of course, he had a little help in the shopping department. Some guys turn to the Internet for gifting assistance; Jay Z relies on Beyoncé’s stylist Ty Hunter, who picked up Tacori’s new $2,390 Promise Bracelet.

“ got the bracelet and took it with him to give to Jay Z,” a source tells PEOPLE — adding that Jay Z couldn’t keep it under wraps until Friday. “He said Jay was waiting for Valentine’s Day to gift her along with a few other presents, but … that Beyoncé is always too eager and you can’t hold any secret from her, so he decided to give it to her earlier.”

The bracelet’s silver and gold intertwined motif is designed to represent the couple uniting, and it can only be unlocked with a special key, which will make it that much harder to misplace the next time she’s on the HMS Beyoncé.

Beyonce Set To Perform At The BRIT Awards 2014?

Klaudia//February 10, 2014
Beyonce was rumoured to be performing at the BRIT Awards last year, but it seems like this year she may actually be taking to the stage, with sources saying that the singer is "99.9 per cent on" to join the line-up.

It's been 10 years since Beyonce performed at the ceremony and insiders say she is definitely going to be gracing the stage on February 19th.

The Drunk In Love singer very nearly performed at last year's BRITs, but reportedly had to pull out last minute because her new material wasn't ready.

A source told The Sun, regarding this year's event: “Beyoncé is on. The only reason this has not yet been announced officially is because the Brits guys are nervous that it could all go wrong again.

“But what I can tell you is that in her camp it’s 99.9 per cent on.”

Arctic Monkeys, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Bastille, Rudimental, Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Disclosure and Pharrell Williams, have all been confirmed to perform at the upcoming bash, but when EntertainmentWise asked a rep if the Halo singer will also be taking to the stage, they hinted that the reports may not be true, saying that it is just "speculation."

Beyonce Bounds to No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100

Klaudia//February 5, 2014
Grammy performer Beyonce breaks into the Billboard Hot 100's top 10 (13-2) with top Streaming Gainer "Drunk in Love," which she performed as the gala's opening song. After a week at No. 2, the track returns to No. 1 on Streaming Songs (9.4 million, up 74%) for a second frame on top. It vaults 8-2 on On-Demand Songs (2.3 million, up 42%) and enters the Digital Songs top 10 (18-7; 151,000, up 94%). It continues scaling Radio Songs, where it lifts 16-14 (68 million, up 15%).

With the song's Hot 100 climb, Beyonce scores her 15th top 10 and first since Lady Gaga's "Telephone," on which she's featured, reached No. 3 in April 2010. "Drunk" marks Beyonce's first top 10 as a lead act since "Sweet Dreams" rose to No. 10 in November 2009. It's also her highest-charting song since "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" spent four weeks at No. 1 beginning the week of Dec. 13, 2008.

With 15 top 10s, Beyonce ties Connie Francis and Olivia Newton-John for seventh-place among women with the most top 10s in the Hot 100's 55-year history. (She passes P!nk, Donna Summer and Taylor Swift, each with 14.) Among female soloists, Madonna leads with 38 top 10s (the best mark of any act), followed by Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson (27 each), Rihanna (25), Whitney Houston (23) and Aretha Franklin (17).

Jay Z, meanwhile, extends his record for the most Hot 100 top 10s among rappers, as he collects his 21st (with 12 in a lead role; Beyonce has sported lead billing on 13 of her 15 top 10s). Among rappers, Lil Wayne and Ludacris share second place with 18 top 10s each, followed by Eminem (17), Diddy and T-Pain (15 apiece).

"Drunk" is Beyonce and Jay Z's fourth shared Hot 100 top 10 (and the third with Beyonce as the lead artist). With Jay Z as the lead, "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" reached No. 4 in December 2002. The couple followed with "Crazy in Love" (eight weeks at No. 1, 2003) and "Déjà Vu" (No. 4, 2006). (With the pair having wed in 2008, "Drunk," thus, marks the Carters' first top 10 as husband-and-wife.)

In addition to its Hot 100 accolades, "Drunk" becomes Beyonce's seventh, and Jay Z's 10th, No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (4-1).

While "Drunk" gains by 62% in overall Hot 100 points, Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" boasts a comfortable 45% points lead over the former atop the tally.

Beyoncé, Jay Z Top Billboard's Power 100 List

Klaudia//January 24, 2014
What is power? At its base, it's the ability to reshape the world around you according to your vision. And who in the music industry did so better in the last year than this power couple?

Leveraging their star power to release new albums in unprecedented ways—Jay Z through Samsung and Beyoncé through iTunes—they instantly changed how the industry and fans thought about interacting with music. He gave his album away; she charged a premium price for hers. But they both used the element of surprise to restore the excitement that used to accompany a new release, before that impact was dulled by the endless thunder of carefully plotted promotion.

In short, they proved that content truly is king. Or, in this case, king and queen.

For years, Jay Z has been building the most powerful artist-driven empire in music, ever since he founded Roc-a-Fella Records in 1996 to bypass a music industry uninterested in his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. By 2004, he'd become president/CEO of Roc-a-Fella distributor Def Jam, and his concert stage would feature an Oval Office set (in a few years, his friendship with Barack Obama would get him much closer to the real thing). A major investor in Steve Stoute's Translation Advertising, he left Def Jam and founded the multifaceted entertainment group Roc Nation in 2008, in partnership with Live Nation. The company oversees a varied roster that includes Rihanna, Shakira, Stargate, Calvin Harris, Timbaland and Deadmau5, and, in partnership with Creative Artists Agency, has added sports to its oversight. And though he's cashed out his stake in NBA team the Brooklyn Nets, Jay Z remains an influential presence at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, which he helped open in 2012 with a series of concerts.img src="https://beyonceonline.org/gallery/albums/scans/2014/Billboard%20February/tn01.jpg" alt="" style="float:left;margin-right:10px"

Beyonce Scores Sixth No. 1 On R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

Klaudia//January 24, 2014
In just its sixth week on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love" (featuring Jay Z) jumps 5-1 to mark her sixth leader on the list. She last topped the chart in 2012 when "Love on Top" reigned for seven weeks. In terms of most No. 1s by a female, Mrs. Knowles-Carter moves closer to leader Alicia Keys, who's taken eight titles to the top.

Here is a look at the female artists with the most No. 1s in the Nielsen BDS-based R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart's nearly 22-year history:

8, Alicia Keys
6, Beyonce
5, Brandy
4, Aaliyah
4, Erykah Badu
4, Mariah Carey

Aside from moving Beyoncé up the all-time list, "Drunk in Love" also becomes the fastest-rising chart leader in nearly five years. The last song to hit No. 1 in six weeks or fewer was Jamie Foxx's "Blame It," featuring T-Pain, which took six weeks to reach the summit and went on to spend 14 weeks on top in 2009. Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" (nine No. 1 weeks, 2006) and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" (12 No. 1 weeks, 2008) both also shot up the survey, reaching the summit in five and six weeks, respectively.

As if her return to chart dominance weren't evident enough, Beyoncé rules Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with her self-titled release for a sixth consecutive week (61,000 copies, down 22%, according to Nielsen SoundScan), marking the longest No. 1 run in her 10-year solo chart career. Her debut apart from Destiny's Child, "Dangerously in Love," led for one week in 2003; "B'Day" and "I Am… Sasha Fierce" each ruled for two weeks in 2006 and 2008, respectively; and "4" managed five weeks at No. 1 in 2011.

Beyoncé Performs at Michelle Obama's Birthday Party

Klaudia//January 19, 2014
As predicted, Beyoncé performed at Michelle Obama's 50th birthday party on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The singer, 32, posted a series of pictures from the intimate gathering via her Tumblr blog the next day. They show the "Partition" singer posing in a sequined gold mini-dress and nude heels, as well as petting one of the First Family's dogs. Beyoncé has a longstanding relationship with the Obama family. She serenaded the political power couple during the president's first inaugural ball in 2009, and she performed at his swearing-in ceremony in 2013. First Daughters Sasha and Malia are also big fans.

In addition to Beyoncé, John Legend also performed at the White House party. Famous attendees includied Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Samuel L. Jackson, Magic Johnson, Gayle King, Gladys Knight, Michael Kors, Rachael Ray, Smokey Robinson, Al Roker, Sheryl Sandberg and Stevie Wonder.

Beyoncé To Serenade Michelle Obama For 50th Birthday?

Klaudia//January 17, 2014
First Lady Michelle Obama turned 50 today, and proudly flashed her newly-issued AARP card via Twitter with a caption that shared her excitement of joining Barack in the 50+ club. FLOTUS will be embracing her half-century milestone with a birthday celebration at the White House this Saturday, Jan. 18.

“I have never felt more confident in myself, more clear on who I am as a woman,” she told Parade magazine about approaching the big 5-0.

Details about the celebration are being kept hush-hush, but CNN reports that the first lady will be serenaded by Beyoncé for the occasion. Beyoncé performed the Etta James classic “At Last” at President Obama’s first inaugural ball and teamed up with Michelle Obama for her “Let’s Move” initiative to reduce obesity and get kids active. The two powerful women are called “BFFs,” but in this case, BFF stands for “Bigtime Famous Friends.”

Beyonce to perform at Grammys?

Klaudia//January 17, 2014
Madonna and Beyonce appear to have their eyes locked on the Grammy stage.

The pop superstars are expected to be among the big surprise moments during next week’s ceremony, according to two sources with knowledge of the plans.

Late last year Beyonce pulled off one of the best-kept secrets in recent music history when she stealthily released her self-titled album without as much as a hint.

The Grammys is where she will make her first televised performance in support of the project — which shattered iTunes records upon its release in December — according to a source with knowledge of the matter.

Madonna, however, is expected to pop up and lend guest vocals during a performance from one of the night’s nominees, an additional source confirmed.

Longtime Grammy Awards show producer Ken Ehrlich said he “can’t confirm” an appearance from Beyonce during an interview with Pop & Hiss to preview the show. Ehrlich didn’t confirm or deny Madonna's involvement.

“Let’s put it this way … we have a really great history that goes back to the early days of Destiny’s Child,” Ehrlich added. “I love working with . She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying, ‘wow.’ ”

“Should she be on the show this year?” he continued. “I would think that the potential is there for that kind of moment.”

Beyoncé Writes An Essay For The Shriver Report

Klaudia//January 12, 2014
Beyoncé has written an essay on gender equality for the latest Shriver Report. You can download it for free from January 12th to January 15th on Amazon or read it below.

Gender Equality Is a Myth!
By Beyoncé Knowles-Carter

We need to stop buying into the myth about gender equality. It isn’t a reality yet. Today, women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but the average working woman earns only 77 percent of what the average working man makes. But unless women and men both say this is unacceptable, things will not change. Men have to demand that their wives, daughters, mothers, and sisters earn more—commensurate with their qualifications and not their gender. Equality will be achieved when men and women are granted equal pay and equal respect.

Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another. So why are we viewed as less than equal? These old attitudes are drilled into us from the very beginning. We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible.

We have a lot of work to do, but we can get there if we work together. Women are more than 50 percent of the population and more than 50 percent of voters. We must demand that we all receive 100 percent of the opportunities.
