Obama fav working out song is 'Crazy in Love'

Klaudia//August 19, 2012
President Obama has said that Beyonce's hit number 'Crazy in Love' is a pretty good song to work out to.

"I've got a lot of old school R and B: you know, Steve Wonder, Earth, Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye," the Politico quoted him as saying in an interview with KOB-FM in New Mexico.

"But I've always got a bunch of contemporary stuff: Jay-Z, Beyonce, Nas. You name it, I've got it.

"If I'm really trying to get my heart rate up, 'Crazy in Love' is a pretty good song to work out to," he said.

Beyonce Influenced White Rabbits New Album

Klaudia//August 19, 2012
LD: You cite Beyoncé as an influence for your latest album Milk Famous. Can you elaborate a bit?

SP (Stephen Patterson): I think we wanted to go into this record with a sort of, for lack of a better term, a mix tape kind of vibe where each song feels kind of unrelated to one another, but as a whole, it kind of makes sense. That was kind of the feeling that I got out of her most recent record, 4, and she's so great at interpreting each song so differently and just always like shifting the tone of each thing, but still owning each sort of feeling in each song; there will be a party song or a very emotional song or whatever and use different sounds and arrangements for each song without any sort of care for a cohesive hold and I think that, for me, was sort of inspirational. That inspired me as a singer. She's one of the greatest singers of our time. I get the feeling that although she's one of the most famous people in the world, she still really cares about every small little detail that's going on and you have to appreciate that. It's hard to be at that level and still put out something that's such high quality. It's cool.

Bradley Cooper To Join Beyonce In 'A Star Is Born'?

Klaudia//August 19, 2012
Bradley Cooper is reportedly mulling over an offer to star opposite Beyonce in Clint Eastwood's film "A Star is Born."

Eastwood allegedly wants Cooper as the leading man for the movie, according to Variety.

The director's version of "A Star is Born" will be a remake of the 1937 film. The movie is about an aging rocker who falls in love with a young, rising star. Screenwriter Will Fetters based the aging rocker character on Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, imagining how he would have fared in the industry 20 years later, had he survived.

The Press Association reports that Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Will Smith have all turned down the "Star Is Born" role. Tom Cruise was the latest to be linked to the part.

"The Hangover" actor may be contemplating the role in Eastwood's Warner Bros. remake, but, according to Variety, "there is no deal in place and Cooper has a very busy schedule."

World Humanitarian Day inspires 1 billion messages

Klaudia//August 19, 2012
Sunday is World Humanitarian Day--a day people around the world are asked to perform a humanitarian action--however big or small--in the spirit of people helping others--"doing something good, somewhere, for someone else."

And with a little help from Beyoncé, organizers of the global event say they made some social media history, too, inspiring more than more than 1 billion messages on Twitter, Facebook and other platforms.

"This could arguably be the largest mobilization of good intention in web history, an amazing coming together of celebrity, brands and NGOs," Andrew Essex--chief executive of Droga5, which helped organize the event--told Yahoo News on Sunday. "Think of it as 'We Are The World' for the social media generation."

Droga said the campaign reached its billion-message goal--1,029,763,492 to be exact--with 20 minutes to spare.

The campaign's website launched earlier this month, collecting pledges and messages from would-be do-gooders, soliciting ideas ("Make a homeless person a sandwich") and encouraging visitors to spread the word using the #IWasHere hashtag.

And Beyoncé, who shot a new music video at the United Nations specifically for the campaign, told Anderson Cooper her goal was to encourage the spread of "positivity no matter how big or how small." The music video--for Beyoncé's "I Was Here"--was released on Saturday. (It didn't hurt that Beyoncé tweeted about the initiative to her 5 million followers, changing her Twitter avatar to promote the event.)

World Humanitarian Day was designated by the U.N. General Assembly in 2009 to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which killed 22 U.N. staffers.

Diane Warren Writing Songs For New Beyoncé Album

Klaudia//August 17, 2012
Diane Warren has found her latest muse, and it’s Beyoncé.

Warren, who wrote the ballad “I Was Here” for Beyoncé’s latest album, 4, said she’s writing material for the megastar’s upcoming album.

Warren said she played a few songs for Beyoncé in New York last week. “They’re great songs,” Warren said of the new tracks she wrote for the 30-year-old singer. “I think they’re on the level of (‘I Was Here’) and I’m really excited about that.”

She compared writing for Beyoncé to a screenwriter having Meryl Streep or Robert De Niro act in his or her movie.

“Some people come in my studio and I’m like, ‘Oh god,’ and you’ve got to fix them up and it’s just hard,” Warren said. “Some of the people that get deals, you just can’t understand. But then when you work with a Beyoncé or so sadly Whitney (Houston) ... it’s so beautiful.”

Beyoncé isn’t the only Destiny’s Child member getting the Diane Warren treatment: “I’m working with Kelly Rowland because Beyoncé was telling her to get together with me.”

Hallelujah!

The snaps, which were uploaded onto her iam.beyonce.com website, show the superstar singer and unofficial Topshop poster girl wearing pieces from the store in a series of fun scenarios alongside her hubby Jay-Z and a group of her closest friends.

In one shot, Bey can be seen smiling from ear-to-ear as she sits on a swing underneath a tree wearing a cream and pink embroidered mesh maxi dress (reduced from £100 down to £30 in the Topshop sale and still available to buy <a href="https://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=5655305&langId=-1&_$ja=tsid:21416

Beyonce's Friend Rubbishes 'Diva' Reports

Klaudia//August 13, 2012
Beyonce's friend has been forced to jump to her defence over claims she acted like a diva when they were filming a reality show.

The 'Run The World (Girls)' singer met up with husband Jay-Z at midtown lounge XVI on Thursday night where CEO of Star Vodka Charles Ferri was filming scenes for the new Oxygen series Girlfriend Confidential: NY.

Initial reports claimed Beyonce demanded the cameras be turned off while she spent time at the venue, however, Ferri has rubbished the reports.

"Beyonce was exceptionally accommodating while the filming was going on," Ferri told the New York Daily News.

What actually happened, according to Ferri, is that producer Jeff Krauss approached him to announce Bey was "in the house," but they continued to film while she was there.

Jay-Z had been in the bar since 9:30pm with Swizz Beatz to catch a performance of Madame Mayhem and a deejaying set from Talib Kweli. Rather than act like a diva as was reported, Bey happily hung out for an hour after she arrived at 11pm.

Beyonce Knowles is Rita Ora's "superwoman."

Klaudia//August 13, 2012
'How We Do' hitmaker Rita cites the singer as her number one influence, and can't believe she has gone from her humble roots in England to getting one-on-one advice from her.

Rita, who is signed to the Roc Nation label run by Beyonce's husband, said: "One minute I'm singing Destiny's Child's 'Say My Name' in my dad's pub and the next I'm sitting here asking Beyonce, does she think this song is right for my album?"

"The first time I met her I was so nervous. I hugged her and told her she was my inspiration. She's a superwoman with a career and a family. I hope one day I can do the same, baby in one arm, microphone in the other.

"Beyonce was, and she still is, such an inspiration. She's been in the game for so long you think she's older but she's only 30."

Beyonce’s Camp Responds to Belafonte’s Criticism

Klaudia//August 13, 2012
Beyonce’s spokesperson is responding to the allegation reportedly leveled by legendary singer Harry Belafonte that she doesn’t do enough to help the world with her star power. Beyonce recently paid a visit to the United Nations in New York City to help mark World Humanitarian Day on August 19 and pay homage to the work done by humanitarian workers. The singer also shot a music video for her song “I Was Here”; the clip will be released on August 19. Earlier this month, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z were criticized by Belafonte for not doing enough social good with their celebrity status. Belafonte reportedly told the Hollywood Reporter “It is sad. And I think one of the great abuses of this modern time is that we should have had such high-profile artists, powerful celebrities. But they have turned their back on social responsibility. That goes for Jay-Z and Beyonce, for example. Give me Bruce Springsteen, and now you’re talking. I really think he is black.” Belafonte didn’t immediately return the Journal’s request for a comment. In response to Belafonte’s words, Beyonce’s representative emailed what she called “An abbreviated list of the unselfish work Beyoncé has done and continues to do.” The list included co-founding The Survivor Foundation “a multi-purpose community outreach facility in downtown Houston”; donating “100K in 2008 to the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund to aid Texas victims of Hurricane Ike”; performing in “MTV’s Hope For Haiti Now! Benefit in addition to making a generous monetary donation,” among many other charitable activities.

Did Beyonce Enlist Sia for Her New Album?

Klaudia//August 13, 2012
If the world wasn’t already super excited for a new Beyonce album, it will be now. Since Bey never settles for less than the best, it’s only natural that her collaborators for her fifth studio record would be the cream of the crop — but that doesn’t make a few of the names floating around any less surprising, including Australian songbird Sia.

As we previously reported, Beysus is working with her hubby Jay-Z ‘s bestie, Kanye West, on her latest effort, as well as producer Hit-Boy and One Republic frontman and songwriter Ryan Tedder (who previously helped pen her hit ‘Halo’).

It makes sense for Bey to stick with what works, but the superstar has never been content to rest on her laurels. Bey loves to experiment, which lends some credence to new rumors that she may be working with both Sia and frequent Dev and Far East Movement collaborators the Cataracs.

The Cataracs hinted about a collaboration on their Twitter, writing, “Off to New York! Unfortunately I’m not allowed to divulge why but… It’s big! With a capital b. Does her name start with b? Who’s to say.” The tweet has since been removed, but remember: Screenshots are forever!

Further, the Cataracs tweeted a photo of Sia, who was also in New York (where Bey is recording). Sia has expressed a strong desire to work with Queen Bey in the past, telling MTV, “Well, there’s only one song left for this album, so I probably won’t get on this album, but hopefully the next one. That’s my dream, that’s my goal.” With that in mind, take a gander at the awesome Aussie’s tweets from Aug. 6 and 7:

Rihanna Tweets Pic of Beyonce

Klaudia//August 13, 2012
Rihanna evidently thinks the world of Beyonce.

On Saturday, the "We Found Love" singer tweeted a glamorous photo of the new mom decked out in full makeup with her golden blonde hair done in bombshell waves and her ample cleavage on dull display.

"This pic could single handedly destroy the self esteem of an entire nation," Rihanna, 24, tweeted of her 30-year-old music industry colleague, whose husband is Jay-Z, Rihanna's mentor and label mate.

The Barbados beauty isn't the only star who's been girl crushing on the "Love on Top" songstress, who gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January. On August 2, actress Rashida Jones tweeted in excitement after catching a post on Beyonce's Tumblr with the handwritten words "Inspiring woman!" next to the actress' photo.

"WHA??? ALL-TIME CAREER AND LIFE HIGHLIGHT. Thank you, Beyonce, you're a goddess." Jones, 36, wrote.
