Beyonce Demands 'Justice' for Breonna Taylor on Her 27th Birthday

Klaudia//June 6, 2020
Beyoncé has joined the growing list of celebrities honoring Louisville native Breonna Taylor on what would have been her 27th birthday Friday (June 5).

"Justice for Breonna. Click the link in my bio to take action," Bey wrote alongside an animated image of Taylor, with a link to the petition fans can sign to demand justice.

Taylor was killed on March 13 when a squad of police used a battering ram to enter her apartment using a "no-knock" warrant and opened fire, fatally hitting Taylor at least eight times.

Beyoncé urges fans to remain 'focused' in fight for justice for George Floyd

Klaudia//June 5, 2020
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is encouraging her fans to remain "focused" in the fight for justice for George Floyd.

Floyd, an unarmed black man, died in police custody after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes during his arrest. His death has sparked demonstrations in the United States and across the globe.

The Grammy-winning artist shared a poignant message on Instagram Wednesday, which featured an aerial photo of thousands of Black Lives Matter demonstrators filling the streets of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Accompanying the picture were the words: "The world came together for George Floyd. We know there is a long road ahead. Let's remain aligned and focused in our call for real justice."

Time Chooses Beyoncé as 2014 Woman of the Year

Klaudia//March 7, 2020
Time magazine has chosen 100 "Women of the Year," selecting one trailblazing woman to represent each year from 1920 to 2019. It's a distinctive way to celebrate Women's History Month, but it's also an acknowledgement that for many years, women's contributions were systematically overlooked.

For 72 years, Time's most anticipated cover was called "Man of the Year" — until 1999, when the magazine changed the title to "Person of the Year."

Still, the male trend continued, and most of the people chosen for "Person of the Year" have been, in fact, men. So, as a reparation of sorts, Time is honoring 100 women now — from suffragists to Beyoncé, and many in between.

Beyoncé kicks off Kobe Bryant memorial

Klaudia//February 24, 2020
Beyoncé, backed by a choir, kicked off the Kobe Bryant memorial at Staples Center on Monday, capping a friendship that had lasted for decades. But she stopped singing almost immediately and invited the audience to join her in song.

“I’m here because I love Kobe. And this was one of his favorite songs,” Beyoncé said as she introduced a spectral rendition of “XO,” from her 2013 self-titled album, before transitioning to “Halo,” a tearjerker from 2008’s “I Am ... Sasha Fierce.”

Beyonce Remembers Kobe Bryant

Klaudia//January 30, 2020
Beyonce has paid tribute to the late basketball great Kobe Bryant.

Queen Bey, a regular guest at Los Angeles Lakers games, the franchise Kobe spent his entire pro career with, shared a series of images on social media remembering the future Hall of Famer.

In one post on Instagram, Bey captioned a now-famous image of Bryant on the sidelines at a Lakers game, kissing his daughter Gianna on the head. The pair both perished last weekend in a helicopter accident in Calabasas, along with seven others.

“I will continue to diligently pray for your Queens,” she writes. “You are deeply missed beloved Kobe.”

Beyonce also posted cute, separate photos of a young Kobe and Gianna, without comment.
