Beyoncé and Peloton Team Up for Unprecedented Partnership

Klaudia//November 10, 2020
Peloton, the world's leading interactive fitness platform, and GRAMMY® Award-winning global entertainer and entrepreneur, Beyoncé, today announced a broad, multi-year partnership rooted in the celebration of music -- a central component of the Peloton class experience -- and pro-social initiatives.

The launch of the collaboration with Beyoncé, the most requested artist by Peloton's global community of more than 3.6 million members, is commemorating Homecoming season, an annual fall celebration for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that honors tradition and legacy. While most of this year's Homecoming festivities shifted to virtual celebrations due to the global pandemic, Beyoncé and Peloton worked closely to create a series of themed workout experiences to help extend Homecoming to Peloton members via classes across multiple fitness categories, including indoor cycling, running, strength, bootcamp, yoga and meditation.

The two are also gifting two-year Peloton Digital memberships to students at 10 HBCUs, providing access to a full library of fitness classes through the Peloton App that can be used with or without equipment. The digital memberships will go to students at Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Texas Southern University, and Wilberforce University, by the end of November. Additionally, Peloton will build on its relationships with each of these schools to pursue long-term recruiting partnerships at both the internship and undergraduate levels.

"Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys," said Beyoncé. "I've been a Peloton member for several years, and I'm excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way. I'm proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens."

British Vogue's December 2020 Cover Story

Klaudia//November 1, 2020
Artist, businesswoman, perfectionist – the one woman powerhouse that is Beyoncé talks family, fashion and philanthropy (and bee hives) with Edward Enninful, in British Vogue’s December 2020 cover interview.

It was always going to be special. How could it not be? And yet I’m not sure I could have predicted how having Beyoncé – an icon of music, fashion and culture for more than 20 years – on British Vogue’s cover this month would finally come to pass.

As I logged on to my laptop one evening in early autumn to oversee the 12-hour shoot more than 3,000 miles away, in New York, I felt the thrill of the new. It was the culmination of months of preparation. “It takes enormous patience to rock with me,” Beyoncé Knowles-Carter wryly notes in our interview on the following pages, in a rare and rounded glimpse into her world. But let me tell you this: rocking with Beyoncé is electric.

Our creative discussions began during the early days of lockdown, and an idea quickly took shape. Social justice, a pandemic – it was clear that this was the moment for something extra. As we all know, it has been an extremely tough year for fashion, and so we wanted to create a no- holds-barred celebration. Who, after all, has the ability to elevate and excite like Queen B? And so we approached some of our favourite designers, who each made a custom piece for a 20-page extravaganza with a purpose: to uplift an industry.

Beyonce Sends Flowers To Her British Vogue Cover Photographer

Klaudia//October 31, 2020
Beyoncé sent flowers with a note to Kennedi Carter to congtarulate her on the British Vogue cover.

The singer specifically requested a woman of colour for the shoot, and together with Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful she landed on Kennedi. Her first ever fashion shoot saw her capture Beyoncé in full “bow down” mode between a studio and her sprawling Hamptons home over two days in August. In one image, Beyoncé reclines on a leather chair in an Oscar de la Renta feathered fuchsia dress. Another aerial shot finds the powerhouse in a macramé Tom Ford gown, one patent-leather, Louboutin-clad foot resting on her coffee table.

“I was just going with the flow. I had done a lot of research into how she works, and I had underestimated how much she’s willing to submit herself to a vision and truly become someone else’s muse,” says Carter, who worked closely with Parkwood Entertainment creative director Kwasi Fordjour on the shoot, which was styled remotely by Enninful via Zoom. The resulting sense of freedom was a surprise to Carter, who says Beyoncé’s ability to “control her own narrative” has always been one of the things she admires most about her. The superstar’s sheer professionalism aside, Beyoncé was “just so, so nice,” Carter says. “Plus she’s from Texas. So she has that energy.”
